Discussion: House Committee Subpoenas DOJ, FBI For Documents Related To Trump Dossier

And that folks is how ONE person is attempting to subvert anything that could possibly inform the public about Donald / Russia.

Interestingly, this is the same guy who said that there was no there, There....and yet he works to shut down the investigation. That should make everyone question his motives.

I hope Mueller takes down corrupt weasel Nunes with the rest of the Trump Crime Syndicate.

This feels to me like it’s more about pushing Sessions and Wray to back Mueller into a position (defending the independence of his commission) that gives them cover to fire him than it is about actually acquiring documents. Maybe I’m just paranoid.

Mueller’s a tough hombre, and would take a stand. Makes me wonder if that’s their strategy, and what the potential fallout is. Anybody with a better handle on the process have thoughts on that?

I was under the impression that during an investigation, there is no requirement that the investigators have to keep the object of the investigation informed about their progress. The only time that the investigators have to be transparent is after the person is charged and all information that will be used in the trial has to be turned over and any exculpatory evidence has to be turned over.

On the face of it, it seems very risky for Nunes & co. to insist on the production of these FBI & DOJ documents. This suggests that he has reason to believe that there are specific documents that he thinks would discredit the Steele dossier and/or Comey, and open the door to a whole bunch of Benghazi-type inquiries into the supposed.role played by the FBI in opposition to Trump.

Alternatively, and just as probably, Nunes has no particular knowledge of the existence of documents that will hurt the FBI or DOJ, but is being pushed by Trump to pursue a fishing expedition as bogus as the ā€˜wiretapping’ claims–which may have some weird bearing on this matter.

Clearly he is still in close contact with a White House. He’s not interested in the investigation the part that includes Russia interfering with our boat thing he’s only interested in the slimy park which I think worries Donald Trump. He needs to be removed from The committee has his artisan attention to Donald’s interest do interfere with the objective of this committee. Your actions speak louder than your words. I should clarify your actions and your deeds clarify the message that you are too close to the White House for this committee do you have a non-partisan view needs to leave the committee. It’s harassment. Could it be considered a cover-up and attempt to cover up something for Donald Trump? over the investigation. Anyone that signed onto

Here we have a recused Devin Nunes asking for documents from a recused Jeff Sessions and FBI director Chris Wray. Neither Sessions or Wray have access to Special Counsel Meuller’s investigation materials. Meuller is under the direction of Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein. Neither, Rosenstein or Meuller have been named in the subpoena. Sessions and Wray can just tell Nunes they do not have access to the materials he is asking for.

Threatening Mueller, who is looking into obstruction of justice, doesn’t seem like a smart strategy but, then again, we are talking about Nunes and Gowdy.

Can they also be investigated for obstruction?

ā€œā€¦imply some pretty serious involvement in the Russian collusionā€¦ā€

Don’t know if you mean now or early on with the Trumpistas. Does he not know that conspiring with a hostile foreign power is most likely treason? Yes, I also know the Constitution sets a high bar.
Yes, he is one pathetic little shit.

Democrats are opposing moves to uncover more information about trump and Russia? What!? This is the weirdest thing I’ve ever heard.

Can someone please explain? What are they afraid of finding out? Very suspicious.
