I just think it’s ironic that this happened in TEXAS, which claims oh-so-falsely to be in the vanguard of this country. This is what government cutbacks and educational degradation get you, I’d say. I freely admit I’m biased; yes, I’m biased against Texas, and against all the other Bible-Belt, traitor Confederate states.
It’s really sad the way the family of the patient was treated by the Dallas community.
Ah, yes… just the kind of constructive thinking guaranteed to solve serious problems, resolve differences, improve conditions, etc. Thanks a lot.

Ebola is absolutely no laughing matter. Condescending snark is NEVER appropriate or welcome when talking about this disease. Forget what you think about Texas. Ebola is now in the United States. Common sense and a common purpose trump political ideology.
I really feel sorry for you, just like I feel sorry for the dittoheads on the right.
Ebola is not a good candidate for a pandemic. This is a disease we can stop. I think we probably will.
There are other infections that are virtually impossible to stop. Those are the ones you have to worry about.
This winter’s version of the flu will kill far more Americans than ebola will kill worldwide. Help stop that epidemic. Get your flu shot.
As an RN, I’m shocked that the Texas health authorities confined an exposed family to an apartment for 6 days together with the infectious materials - soiled sheets, clothing, appliances, etc. - of a known ebola patient, before they cleaned it up. But they have quarantined them - if they don’t care much about the family itself, they seem to be keeping the family away from the rest of the population…
