Discussion: Hometown Editorial: McDaniel Isn't A Racist Because He Played Basketball

The best part is that the GTOPer argument is “Blacks only vote Democrat because Democrats give them stuff like Obamaphones”.

Meanwhile, the argument to vote GOTPer is “Vote for me to keep Democrats from giving blacks Obamaphones.”

Well, then Chris McDaniel will understand fully when we say his Political Career “has passed.”

I have to wonder at the logic of the statement, “he’s not a racist because he played basketball.” That’s such an illogical statement that there’s really no witty comeback or retort to it. What is even more incredible, Chris McDaniel’s expositions on race, the South losing the Civil War, and so many other problems that he has commented on.

This is one race that Chris McDaniel has lost, he should give it up and concede the race. Yet because of “voting irregularities” he believes that he actually won the race. But what he did was smear the many African-Americans who voted in the primary for Thad Cochran. No one is disputing the white people who voted for either candidate, but now here’s Chris McDaniels speaking quite irresponsibly about African-Americans voting for Thad Cochran. Shame, Shame Shame.

He knew Blacks.
They were a family who lived two streets over…

And Donald Sterling owned a frigging basketball team. He even had a mixed-race girlfriend. I guess that proves he’s not racist either?

Hey, and Paula Deen worked in the kitchen with black people. And I’d guess that the vast majority of slave-owning plantation owners in Mississippi had black wet nurses as infants. They’re all off the hook, too!

this is a joke. right?

When white people vote their interests they’re just voting, when black people vote their interests it’s because they are bought and paid for. The whole state of Mississippi is bought and paid for. Why is that only a mark against black voters?

Hey, they didn’t call her “Sarah Barracuda” for nothing!

Yeah, cuz we all know that there are no racist players in college basketball. And even Jackie Robinson was blessed only with teammates who fully supported his efforts to be accepted.

So what’s next on their lame “some of my best friends …” spin? He cannot be racist because his housekeeper is black?

… and he never failed to bring the watermelon to the team parties.

White Man Can Jump Logic!

Yeah, really strange how any black support you might have slips away when you start playing footsie with Confederate sympathizers.

Now, what was that you were saying about McRacist?

So he hung out with his teammates years ago. Question: Does he still hang out with any of the African-American ones now?

Shorter White Mississippi:
It’s a shame those black folks don’t know how to recognize racism on their own and will believe anything a grownup tells them. A real shame, because some of them are good people. And good golly, can they ever jump!

A “Lost causer” who openly supports secession and gives the keynote speech before the Sons of Confederate Veterans cannot do a 180 and claim that he is not a bigot. What’s next? He came close to Wilt Chamberlains 100 pt record.

LOL, there are a bunch of good comments on this thread, but this wins for me.

There was this one time, during junior year playoffs, when the team waterboy and 2 cheerleaders got themselves locked into the press booth where the scoreboard controls just happened to be. They had to call Coach to come in and let them out.

Oh he played BASKETBALL? He must have hung out with Black people then. It is a shame that his former teammates haven’t stepped forward to vouch for his character. Wait… McDaniel already spoke about his character. He has claimed that Cochran cheated by paying Black people to commit voter fraud- not the in-person identity-type of fraud because Mississippi got rid of that by having Voter ID. McDaniel knew that Cochran was going after voters to vote in the OPEN primary, and instead of getting his own get-out-the-vote campaign going, he started howling and whining how Cochran was recruiting Blacks to steal the election for him. He spoke to his character when he was hanging out with Neo-Confederates and pro-secessionists. One more thing- in trying to defend McDaniel, the hometown rag not only stooped to stereotyping, it dove in the deep end of that pool. McDaniel thinks Blacks are great human beings until it comes to voting.
