“You’ve got to keep your eyes on the little things. … They may not be as sexy as going to big presidential rallies, but they’re just as important,” Holder said. “That’s one of things we are going to be doing with the NRDC, as well, to make redistricting a sexy thing.”

An idea whose time has come.

There’s a case from Wisconsin going to SCOTUS soon that reformers are quite optimistic will present an easy formula for the courts to use when deciding these cases. It has to do with “wasted votes.” Forgot where I saw the article.

Anyway, fixing this will be easier than getting rid of the Electoral College so I’m glad the Ds are finally serious about it.

I read about that case the other day. I have hopes for it myself.

Every time Holder’s name comes up it should remind the US that he was nearly instrumental in drafting the flawed legal arguments that allowed banks to rape the American home owner. Then, when the banks broke the law, stole citizens’ homes (via illegal foreclosure) and trampled real estate laws, Holder did not prosecute a single bankster. Not one of any significance, anyway. Funny, VW executives are getting criminally charged for fraud (and rightly so), but bankers waltzed away with nary a hair mussed on their crooked heads. Holder should never live down what he failed to do to rip the bankers a new one. (David Dayen wrote a fantastic book about this: CHAIN OF TITLE).

The one thing is not like the other so can we concentrate on what Holder is doing now?

There is this constant thing from the left that if someone isn’t perfect, they are no good. That’s cutting off our nose to spite our face.

Thanks! (That’s what happens when you just skim the article!)

Agreed. It can be easier to achieve goals when you are out of government. Jerry Brown hired his firm to help fight back challenges to California and now a California Republican Assemblyman is challenging that move. I am happy to have his firm’s help here.

Did he do anything about this as Attorney General? Nope…

You’re not alone – I’m guilty of doing so, then immediately wondered where we can donate to the cause. LOL. Too anxious to get started.

Really, same here!

Good, because what the Reps did was absolutely shameless and it needs to be killed.

Holder at least fined the investment banks over 50 billion while in office. And he filed many lawsuits against voter suppression states. Loretta Lynch did not pursue bankers either, except to fine them. For damn sure Sessions isn’t going to either. The bankers and the one percenters basically own the politicians, in essence, they craft the laws via their lobbyists. No politician from any party will try to jail one of them unless they’re cool with it. I have a feeling you pretty much knew that, but just wanted to take a swipe at Holder anyway.

Day late, dollar short.

Good effort, but I’m waiting to see if this is just another way to raise money, or if those of us willing to work on something other than fundraising will get a chance to.

Anyone who has spent any measurable amount of time in government has voted for/against something they shouldn’t have or drafted legislation that wasn’t tough enough/was too tough. Holder has been impeccable on voting rights and issues involving ballot access. Banking regulations are irrelevant to this very important issue.
