Discussion for article #224737
Right about some things and wrong on others. Very right about the supreme court legislating on hot button issues as a white male Glee club.
That aināt gonna stop 'em. They are just getting rolling.
Thanks for including the definition of stfu for folks reading your blog. Iām sure this crowd skews a little older, but I think we get these basic items, even in our advanced state of decrepitude.
I agree, they should have left this one aloneā¦but then, I am not drooling over the chance to write to law from the bench and introduce new precedents like saying artificial legal and financial constructs have religious rights.
The Supreme Court has become the Extreme Court. I could care less if they talk as long as they donāt listen to their own bullshit.
They have proven to be just witty enough to reason with themselves but to be totally unreasonable from Americaās standpoint. They need to rework their own constitutions and wise up because the partisan style of law and the intended/unintended consequences are the real nation wreckers.
Yes, and if one doesnāt get it, one can GFGI.
āāFederal Judge To Tell Supreme Court To āSTFUāāā
If only it were that easy.
I didnāt realize that all Five Supremes were Catholic. I guess it didnāt matter until Tuesdayās āclarificationā expanding the written decision to include all birth control.
"The Inquisition, what a show!"
A day without STFU is like a day without sunshine.
No need for harsh language. In polite society itās GIYF
Judge Kopf deserves to congratulated on these analyses, which nail the numerous legal and non-legal issues with the misguided and seriously flawed ruling by John Roberts and his fellow extreme religious conservatives on the court. These religulously activist justices seem to bent on destroying individual rights and freedoms, particularly those of women and non-christians, and to pandering to the Republican party base and corporations.
Why is Judge Kopf sitting with all that equipment behind him?
Or via allegiance to the Pope? I recall when JFK ran for president, the big fear was they he would put allegiance to Rome over allegiance to the Constitution. One has to wonder, given how clearly ideological and religious rather than actually Constitutional this Hobby Lobby decision was.
By the way, what is SCOTUSā test for āreligious sincerityā? Do they have one, or do they go by the corporationās self-description. How āsincereā is Hobby Lobby on its stand against certain forms of contraception that they themselves have invested $73 million in?
The judge is correct. This decision is motivated by something quite other than our laws and our Constitution.
I had to GFGI to find out what GIYF means, but now that I know, Iāll start using that ASAP.
Too bad such a smart man is not on the Court instead of the Fab Five.
āCongress shall make NO LAW respecting an establishment of religion or prohibiting the free exercise thereof.ā --First Amendment
Any way you read that, the Restoration of Religious Freedom Act is UNCONSTITUTIONAL!!!
Kopf should resign from the benchā¦his statement proves he is an unqualified moron. Questioning the validity of a legal opinion on the sex of those jurists who voted in the majority proves that he would substitute political correctness for the law. When judges start making decisions based on the sex of the litigants our system is destined to fail.
The Bush Rampage lives on in the form of the Roberts Court.
Remember the historical anti-immigrant period from 1820 to 1890 and the Know Nothing Party. Fear of the Catholics, where signs like Irish Catholic need not apply.
