Discussion for article #224910
Title should be changed to read “HIV detected in Mississippi child who was previously believed to be cured”
Technically the title is grammatically correct but it is easy to read it as it is and think that the HIV is currently believed to have been cured, when the title means the opposite.
On the article, I hope we find a way to beat the disease so that people such as this child can have a free life.

I’d be interested to hear if this could be a reinfection. A study sample of one is always problematic.
Very sad for the child, but perhaps periodic bursts of antiretrovirals will be effective at staving off symptoms indefinitely.
