This is the problem with modern Democratic party identity politics.
The proper action is to demand a meeting over the failure of outreach to ALL Americans. When they only make noise about their own Latino community itâs a slight to all the other Americans. Iâm certain thatâs not their intent but thatâs how it appears.
Trumpâs only interest in the Hispanic caucus is to seek their immediate expulsion from our country.
Iâm glad that this group has expressed outrage and demanded a meeting with WH and HHS. At least somebody in the Democratic Party is standing up and speaking out. Whereâs the rest of the partyâŚwhereâs Perez, Ellison, Schumer? What exactly are they waiting for? Open enrollment only a month or two away. The WH has made it very clear with their threats to walk away from the ACA and discourage potential enrollees from enrolling into the planâŚand now it appears that they can do this without Congress.
Democrats, left, center, Black, Latino, etc., etc. need to grab the microphone away from the conservatives. They have held onto it for 40 years. Itâs time for them to give it up. Conservatives continue to get rewarded for making messes - economic (2008 recession) and foreign (2nd Iraq War). Dems clean up the mess, but forget to take credit.
