GhostofEustaceTilly. End of list.
Pfft. About what I come to expect from anything sourced through Politico. Itâs a âspitballingâ list, aimed at just about every geographic and issue constituency that her campaign is eyeing.
And I still think Castro should be setting up his own campaign this year. It wonât hurt his standing on anybodyâs VP list, and probably will significantly improve it. Though the Clintons probably wonât be particularly happy about such a development, obviously.
If Castro runs, be prepared to hear a billion times that he doesnât speak Spanish, but Jeb Bush does. A BILLION TIMES.
It is way too early to believe anything fronted by FOX lite AKA Politico as credible.
This is happy gas 101 âfloatedâ by a GOP website.
Kamala Harris, seriously, sheâs going to be in the senate? Booker (I heart vouchers) as a paradigm of civic virtue for whom, Wall Street? Kaine a marginal Blue Dog?
Castro, of course, Bennett perhaps.
Only if he emerges as a credible threat to Hillary, which at this point, he isnât. Bush is not going to spend time trading slaps with the likes of Castro and by doing so, elevate him. Because nobody in the GOP wants to run against a charismatic, intelligent, well spoken, young Hispanic in 2016âŚNobody.
Only based on scuttlebutt from San Antonio and, I think, once thrown out on the Texas Tribune podcast. 2018 is when the Castro brothers are expected to make a move. The expectation is that Julian will run for governor, and Joaquin for Ted Cruzâs Senate seat.
I would be happier if we were talking about Elizabeth Warrens running mate.
Harris is definitely going for Boxerâs seatâŚso you can scratch her off the short list right away. She may be a rising star in the California Democratic Party, but until she gets elected to a national seat, she brings nothing to the table for a presidential election.
Booker is just a very transparent attempt to say Hilary is in trouble with the blacks (and therefore the entire âObama coalitionâ is in disarray), Kaine is there because VA is still purple. Ditto for Bennett. If we had a strong Democratic candidate in Florida that had just won an election, they would be on the list, too. But we really donât.
And Castro has been floated as a VP candidate ever since Hillary started dipping her toes into the water.
Bennet is ineligible. He was born abroad, and no one ineligible for the presidency can be elected VP. Politico, again, hasnât done its homework.
InterestingâŚthanks for that tidbit, I will look it up.
He is going to be courted as a VP candidate, however. And personally, I like Julianâs chances at the WH a lot better than his chances at the Texas governorâs mansion. There is another moving part in those calculations to take into account as well. Cruz has been eyeing the Texas Mansion himself, and my guess is, its still at the top of his bucket list. Though I am not sure 2018 is the year he wants to run for it, it does line up well for him.
It does look like a Castro - Cruz competition is somewhere on the horizon, however.
I hope youâre being snarky and/or channeling a birther for humorous intent.
So basically, every major rising star in the Democratic Party is a possible VP candidate for HRC.
Wow, PoliticoâŚthatâs some seriously in-depth, heavy shit.
Bennet was born in India to American parents, so heâs just an eligible as Ted âBorn in Canadaâ Cruz and John âBorn in Panamaâ McCain.
Born to an ambassadorial assistant and government official in many capacities, no less. Iâd love to see the kooks try and argue that one.
Kind of a bait and switch. Itâs the usual trial balloons at an early stage.
Mike AllenâŚhahahahahahahahaha.
I hate that guy. Heâs a GOP political operative inside a political rag by the name of Politico.
Fuck him and whatever inside scoop he believes heâs gotten.
Mike Allenâs next inside scoop will be âThe Hillary Triangulation Method of Campaigningâ.
You heard it here first folks.
NahâŚMike Allen is notorious for making stuff up out of thin air.
Hereâs a tiny bit of icky-shit from Wikipedia on this MoronâŚ
Allen is the son of conservative journalist and John Birch Society member Gary Allen (1936-1986).
Nuff said.
If Castro wants to get anywhere, he wont get there as Elizabeth Warrenâs running mate. Senators donât have running mates.
