Discussion: Hillary: I Knew Taliban Negotiation Would Be 'Hard To Swallow' For Americans

Discussion for article #223583

You obviously didn’t shove it far enough down their throats.

Agreed. It’s too bad that the start of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars weren’t as ‘hard to swallow’ for the American people as the repercussions have been.

Where does this sh1t come from?

  1. We have NEVER been at war with “The Taliban.”

  2. We are not now at war with “The Taliban”.

  3. The Taliban is NOT, and has never been, listed as a Foreign Terrorist Organization (FTO) by the US State Department.

Well, Hill, you voted for this. I, for one, am sick of her dribbling leaks to 1) sell her book, and 2) fill her war coffers.

It is time for Hill and Bill to go gently into the sunset and be doting grandparents (and I voted for Bill twice).

Everyone is saying she’s a foregone conclusion, but every time I see her in public I’m reminded of why she didn’t win the nomination the first time around. She just isn’t that likable. The clips of her on The View were just awkward to me. She said very pedestrian things as if they were great words of wisdom. “Once you retire, you’ve got to take some time for yourself.” Oh wow. That’s profound.

Part of me thinks the GOP will spend all their effort beating her up (again) and totally miss the underdog who ends up getting the nomination.

Going into Afghanistan was easier to swallow for many, but the Russian failure there was always an issue.

Invading Iraq was criminal.

No more war.

I agree. I have never really liked her. She is disingenuous and totally political. She has no soul. And maybe she could just never win against that magnetic husband of hers. But, I never liked her, from day one. I never liked her sense of entitlement, and her inability to connect to people, and it is hard because I really want to see a female President in my lifetime (I am 66). But there are many deserving women.

I like to think that she is better than I think and she is serving as the willing decoy.

Hillary has no choice but to spew this ridiculous gibberish. Like others have already remarked we’re not at war with the Taliban & never have been. We never should have gone into Afghanistan anyway. We did to save face against the 911 attack. But our fight was never really with Afghanistan but to look for Al Qaeda terrorists. Taliban leaders in charge at that time were shielding them so we overturned the gov’t but Taliban are NOT our enemies. WTH? GOTP hypocrites & liars.

“Hard to swallow” might be a phrase that she’d want to avoid in the future because…well,uh…you know.

So true, patriott. It boggles the mind the ignorance or is it stupidity of the masses. We’re suddenly at was with the Taliab and all Muslims? Now we’re suppose to believe there’s something wrong with looking Muslim or talking Arabic? Pathetic.

Funny, I know a lot of people who say the same thing, but I have the complete opposite reaction. I’ve always found Bill to be loathsome from the beginning, the kind of person who would lie to your face while patting you on the back. I was also in New York during her first campaign for Senate, and she did a very good job of connecting with people and winning them over against a lot of skepticism about what was still fairly transparent carpetbagging. Even though I supported Obama over Hillary in 2008, I think she’d be fine.

this statement is why you need another democrat to run against the Clinton bull crap. white people cannot stomach a brown person ever being let free and the Clintons play the lock up brown people game the best. was this war to unseat the current afghan gov’t or was this all about attacking terrorism? here is a question to ask any politician, especially the ones on the intelligence committee - what’s the definition of terrorist

however our press is to busy collecting paychecks to ask this question. if the press ask this question you will see that any American breaking the law can be considered a terrorist

Hmmmm. Now I remember why I don’t I completely trust Hilary Clinton. Its coming
back to me in pieces.

Yes, please.

I would vote for her, certainly over whoever is nominated from the Konservative Klown Kar, but I would much rather we look to the future instead of the past.

She is a reflection of the past. Can’t we move on from the 20th century yet?

Well, gee - PBO said she was “likable enough” in one of their debates. So it must be true.

Apparently that’s not really the same as just “likable” though…

Agreed.

Although, I’d be happy if we could just avoid the stupid ones.

If she were the nominee, I would support her. I didn’t say Bill was an angel; I said he was far more magnetic than she is. She comes across as phony to me. Guess we will agree to disagree.

Yes, I feel the same. I want a female president, just someone with a heart.
