Discussion for article #246934
The networks are calling it, but I haven’t seen any returns at all yet. So is this call based on exit polls? If so, it must be a good-sized margin to call it before any returns are even in.
Edit: I am seeing elsewhere that the state Democratic Party had announced the winner. Still seems weird that we aren’t seeing any actual numbers yet.
Something tells me TPM was predicting this to go the other way.
I do wish the MSM would pay more attention to delegate counts than to who “won” each state.
Where? I never saw any such prediction.

~snicker~
See the title of the thread…
LOL
Didn’t notice that.
Man, TPM has really devolved into amateur hour in recent weeks.
Discussion: Hillary Clinton Projected Winner Of Kansas
Funny!
They did the same thing with Minnesota.
It’s amateurish enough to keep publishing threads titled “DO NOT PUB,” but this is (at least) the second “Dewey Defeats Truman” gaffe.
Agreed - primaries are only about delegate assignment. The MSM coverage leads to part of the discontent we hear about the primary season (example, the demand for raw count in Iowa Caucas)
TPM is a really professionally run site DO NOT PUB
Well, they at least think the winner is a human, not XX.
TPM should get Steve Harvey to do a guest column.
I think the headlines were written before everyone left for the weekend, leaving the numbers blank for an intern to fill in.
On the GOP side (since the Miane results sidebar thread link does;t work):
Delegates awarded in Maine:
Cruz - 12
Trump - 9
Kasich - 2
Rubio - 0
Rubio shut out in Maine. Yikes.

lol, yikes indeed.
And late as always.
So quick explanation of the headline. On election nights we have to prewrite results stories - because we need to be able to publish quickly when results are called. And that’s obviously before we know the results. So we write the skeleton of a story and then we plug in the results when we get them. What you see above is a placeholder title. We’ve realized that there is a glitch in our system which prevents us from changing the headline on the comments page, unlike on the story page which we can obviously revise whenever we want. So a bit embarrassing. But that’s the explanation. If you’re a Hillary supporter, just pretend that’s the real result.
