Discussion: Hillary Clinton Calls Trump 'Offensive' But Says Other GOP 2016ers Are Just As Bad

Discussion for article #239277

Yup. 100% right, and politically crucial: keep them all linked, because they are.

All Trump is doing is stating – openly and crassly – the real and ugly reasons for positions that have become mainstream in today’s GOP… the reasons they try to keep under wraps, hidden behind euphemisms and code-words.

If they all take the same positions – and they do, apart from tone – Trump exposes them all.

I’ve been saying for weeks that the only difference between Trump and Ted Cruz is that Trump speaks louder and gets more media attention. There are a good number of others in the crowd who are also comparably offensive - Huckabee, Santorum, and Carson, for example. And Scott Walker is IMO the most dangerous person in American politics today - to the right of Attila the Hun, and with massive big-dollar support, he’s owned by the Koch brothers and their odious compatriots.

It seems that Trump is doing Republicans a favor by keeping media focus off the crazy ideas of most of their candidates. If he drops out without starting a 3rd party campaign, he’ll probably end up as a net positive for whoever eventually wins the nomination. Republicans have been pretty good at weeding out the wackiest candidates in the primaries, but this time, I’m not sure who can be left other than incompetent Jeb and dangerous Walker. As far as I’m concerned, the more Trump, Cruz et al harm the Republican brand, the better for the country.

When Trump finally does take his rightful place in history (also ran), all his mouth-breathing supporters are just going to fall inline with whomever the Republicans nominate.

This is true and I would rather vote for Sanders than her so I am not one of her real supporters. She spoke the exact truth.Good for her.
All US Women should take a pledge to never date a GOP person.Cut them all off .

I’m starting to wonder if Trump’s popularity would suffer if he used the [CLANG!] word about President Obama.

Well if you mean that Republicans will end up supporting whoever wins the nomination, no kidding. Just like Democrats will just fall inline with whoever Democrats nominate. That is usually the ways it goes.

We’ve decided not to pursue this point any further for the sake of a cheap jibe

I don’t think this kind of response is good in an environment that’s become more reality TVish, if you want message penetration. Southern drawl Hillary needs to come forth and make her case with a pinch more levity, Trumpian satire, and a sound that’s a tad less JEBish…Drawing a noose around all of them was good tho.

I’m still disappointed that he skipped the traitor flag pin for his debate.

yep. Keeping it 100.

And it’s something that needs to be said everyday.

She’s not wrong. Every candidate in the GOP field is offensive on multiple issues and fronts.

Well, he might siphon away a few of Carson’s votes . . .

It’s not too late if you have married a Rep. My husband, from South Georgia was Rep. when I met him in 1982. We weren’t very political back then and had small kids to take care of. But over the Reagan and Bush years he woke up and started to listen to my ideas. I’m liberal from NY.

Now, he’s louder than me sometimes yelling at the news shows. Mission Accomplished.

She’s spot on! Trump is simply the unfiltered ID of the Republican Party. His greed, misogyny, homophobia…etc. are all part and parcel of the GOP. He just doesn’t hide them.

BTW: Watching Jebby Bush sink like a meat-filled turd in the toilet bowl must be giving poor lil’ Rinsed Prius’ lots and lots and lots of angst! rotflmao
Jebby must start digging deeply into that 100million$$ war chest or he won’t even be on the prime time debate stage next time.

And Chris Christie who seemed a shoo in for “Biggest Azzhole’ on Stage” has been Trumped’ big time.

Oh…And why not let Rosie O’Donnell ask the first question at the Simi Valley ‘debate’ in Sept. _________Ratings Bonanza! It would be YOOOOOOOOOOOOGE’!

To be fair, only one Republican male candidate abducted a brain-dead woman from her family because evangelicals convinced him that he could bring her back from the dead. And despite every court ruling stating that what Gov. Jeb Bush was doing was unconstitutional, including the Supreme Court, Bush kept on torturing her family, especially her husband. I don’t want this delusional weasel sneaking into the White House under cover of manufactured confusion, like his brother did with the Governor’s invaluable help. And I don’t want Trump to suck so much air out of the room that we don’t hear the name “Terri Schiavo” every time we hear the name “Jeb Bush.”

I just regret that she limited it to the GOP men … Fiorina, who someone here delightfully referred to her as a WINO (woman in name only), is no better on women’s issues. Here’s one I saw today:

Good for her, and correct. Trump is a vulgarian but who the hell knows what his policies are. He doesn’t even know. But Rubio et al demanding government control over wombs should be more repulsive to women.

I think she and her communications team are, if nothing else, savvier and more responsive than in the 08 primaries when they would put out those “I can win white voters because I’m white” dog whistles. Might bode well for her chances.
