Discussion for article #233333
Could be a very strong ticket in 2016.
The question now is who leaked news of that meeting?
It sounds like something somebody on Team Hillary would leak. Until the inevitable shakeout a Clinton hired team is always a leaky sieve.
âAt that run-inâŚâ
I do not believe that the author meant to indicate that they were quarreling or arguing by using the term ârun-inâ â âmeetingâ or âencounterâ would have been a less loaded term.
Clinton invited Warren in order
to cultivate the increasingly influential senator and leader of the partyâs economic populist movement.
Nothing sinister going on and somebodyâs idea of a dream ticket is not being shaped. Reading the entire article might be helpful.
These two probably could be good friends. They both are smart with wry senses of humor.
What is the tipping point where âa private one-on-one meetingâ becomes a very clandestine sounding âŚâA Secret Meetingâ?
I am very curious to see where their policy positions align, and where they diverge, and why. Warren is my hero. Hillary has always been a lightning rod. That can be a good way to run cover when other important stuff is going on in the background, but it also sucks all the oxygen out of the room. I would be so curious to see how the âmisogynyâ meme plays out against the current âracialâ meme, when parlayed by the Republicansâafter all, a little more than half the country stands to be alienated by the âmisogynyâ meme. And other than that, will the bones of Vince Foster be interred? Have they chewed all the flavor out of Benghazi? Really, what is left, other than misogyny? Canât claim sheâs a Kenyan born Muslim Mao Mao who wants to kill Whitey, can they?
No doubt plotting the U.S. surrender to ISIS in 2017. Details to follow on Fox News tonight.
The GOP counter campaign theme : âMisogyny, the New Patriotismâ
Perhaps. You also have to ask who benefits most from the âleak.â Here, it might arguably be Clinton and Warren, who get to enjoy some buzz.
All I care about is a win and Hillary stands the best chance. Not only that, she will bring in a lot of Dems in the House and Senate with her. As for Warren, we need her very badly in the Senate. She will be a great asset to Hillary. Why folks donât get it is beyond me. Put your energy into the House and Senate. Please move on.
This is great. HRC has been sounding more and more like Warren on economic issues and this meeting is hopefully another indication that she plans to adopt Warrenâs message and policy prescriptions. HRC will undoubtedly be a much stronger candidate if she embraces Warren and utilizes her throughout the campaign. I donât think Warren would be a good VP choice, HRC needs color and youth on her ticket (aka someone named Castro), but I do think Warren would help HRC shore up her left flank and would make a phenomenal economic spokesperson.
Exactly. We are all in this together.
When you are writing headlines for TPM to garner clicks. Thatâs the tipping point.
No doubt. This seems to be one of those leaks leaked by the campaign and probably designed to reiterate the fact that Warren isnât running.
Hey, itâs Democrats, and more importantly, Clintonites who were involved. The real question is how are we just now finding out?
More likely designed to reiterate that Liz is at least tacitly okay with Hillary.
