Discussion: Hillary Clinton Addresses Email Exchanges With Sidney Blumenthal

Discussion for article #236527

“I’m rubber, you’re glue…”

I predict the public is fatigued with “Clinton fatigue”.

Jesus, the RW has always had a hard-on for Sid Blumenthal. It was like he was personally holding Clinton’s dick while Ms Lewinsky gave him her best, to hear them back in '98. Just like old times, eh boys? I wish Gaudy Night the best of luck. He should be lucky not to get Max B. on his tail…that would be entertaining.

Was there news in that Times story? I must have missed it.

She did fine.

The Times reported that some of the “intelligence that Mr. Blumenthal passed on to Mrs. Clinton appears to have come from a group of business associates he was advising as they sought to win contracts from the Libyan transitional government.” The venture was ultimately unsuccessful, according to the Times.

According to the Times, Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-SC) and the House Benghazi committee plan to interview Blumenthal about his correspondence with Clinton.

Sigh. Well I guess the next two years will be spent relentlessly searching for something, anything, to get Hillary Clinton.
If this was something new and exclusive to Hillary, I’d probably be more outraged. But I suspect this is nothing new and happens quite frequently across all parties of government. Wish it weren’t so, but if you want to finger one, finger them all (no pun intended at all)

This will be oppo research for Republicans, and they will have full and unfettered House (and Senate) resources in order to carry out their political agenda. Something is terribly wrong about that.

We thought Vince Foster was bad…I don’t think we’ve seen nothin yet.

Wait a second…

Business, politics, diplomacy and relationships sometimes intersect?

Can’t we hire private contractors from Halliburton, KBR or Blackwater to do a thorough investigation of this?

So Hillary possibly used her position at State to help an old friend with his business interests? Pretty soon Republicans will be voting for her in droves.
Oh, it did not actually happen that way? Never mind then.

The next two years? If the polling is accurate and holds, more like the next 6 at least, and more probably the next 10. As long as a Clinton holds political aspirations, they will hound them. As sure as the sun rises in the east and sets in the west.

Its slightly worse than that, however. Once again this is a NYT piece, very short on actual reporting but heavy on innuendo. Its their standard apparently for any coverage on Hillary, or either of the Clintons, really.

I’m sorry, but where is the there in all of this?

She forwarded effing e-mails.

Good god it’s going to be a long…let’s see…possibly 9 years, isn’t it?

I’d say it’s incredibly depressing to see how low the Times has sunk, but it is the paper that published Judith Miller.

It’s sad to see the dive continuing.

There will soon be no dead horse for the Republicans to beat. Enough. Benghazi is over, there is no “there” there, let’s move on, shall we?

Worse than Watergate!

We got her where we want her!

Scalia and Thomas go duck hunting with Dick Cheney and I’m supposed to be worried about this?

Agree with more or less all of the above, but I think these antics are likely to backfire in a big way. Women voters are not going to take kindly to this constant harassment, many experience similar treatment every single day. Be very interested in hearing from some female commenters on this site, looks to me like all the above are male, as am I.

So what exactly is the story here?

I have read it several times and I fail to see what the issue is.

The Secretary of State can’t consult with people she knows?

Boy, the media is so ready and willing to attempt to take Hillary Clinton down, and give everyone an excuse to stay home on election day, huh? I really do believe it’s not just “A great right-wing conspiracy”, but really the whole MSM who just are trying as hard as they can to bolster whatever hapless and unqualified Republican, no matter how full of lousy failed ideas they are, to make it a real “horse race” so they have something to report on!

Shameful.

What I’m tired of is the House Benghazi committee…

You just nailed it! I couldn’t stop laughing.

The dour old Gray Lady tut tutting at Hillary hearing from an old friend… Shame on her, they seem to exclaim!

I think Blumenthal wanted her to invest in a Libyan real estate deal called White Wadi.
