Discussion: HHS Says It Pulled Ads Promoting Obamacare Enrollment To Cut Costs

Essentially, that’s what I hear them saying but without admitting the money was already spent.

I thought ad time had to be purchased in advance for TV commercials and print ads. It does when politicians run for office.

They must have gone to the PPACA return desk to get our money back.

Reason for return:

Where are the democrats at shouting out about this.

That would be rude.

Reporters - and Dems in Congress - need to demand proof that the pre-paid media was in fact resold at or above cost to validate this story.

We aren’t going to continue spending millions of taxpayers’ dollars promoting a failed government program.

My blood’s boiling point exceeds way over 212°F now.

for the uninitiated, “failed” = “the blacks/poors have coverage now”

also, it seems like a violation of the separation of powers to have paul ryan giving statements on behalf of an executive branch agency.

Bullshit b/c the ads were already paid for…I don’t think this is going to end well…

“prepaid” is greek to trump. this is the guy who doesn’t pay his contractors, either before or after the work.

Typical Govt B.S. because of the new Sheriff in town. This is the first shot across the bow in eliminating the ACA.

The ads were paid for, but it was worth it to Trump to piss on it one last time before killing it. It wasn’t $5 million of his money anyway.

I saw an article about this at CNN yesterday that said the ad time had been paid for.

"We aren’t going to continue spending millions of taxpayers’ dollars promoting a failed government program. Once an assessment was made, we pulled back the most expensive and least efficient part of this massive ad campaign which was set to run over the weekend. Those costs savings will be returned to the U.S. Treasury," a spokesperson for HHS said in the statement.

Trump is not popular, so he wants an investigation into why, but only if he can blame immigrants.

A small fraction of the Justice Department’s pending investigation into Non-Existent Voter Fraud and its ongoing Cover-Up of Trump For President Collusion with Russian Interference in the Illegitimate Electoral College Victory to the Popular Vote Loser.

If the Republicans had something better to replace the ACA, they wouldn’t have to sabotage it.

Then I guess it’s in the Treasury’s best interest to show that it was received. Gotta make sure out debits and credits are all aligned.

But, as Politico noted, HHS has not offered an update urging enrollment on its Twitter account since Thursday morning.

Wow, Twitter must be EXPENSIVE!

It will be received.

In relation to that jpeg, though the usual post election rumblings have been in play for a bit, those monthly reports are coming soon.

Yes I see. Because it was determined by Trump that it was ‘a failed government program’ and he pulled those ‘facts’ out of his orange ass he sent his flying monkeys to shut down advertising, education and access for a program that is fact STILL IN MOTHER FKING EXISTENCE and up for use…do I have that right? You pulled the ads because you were ratfking the public?

I believe in this instance it is only fking, ratfking would have them shut down healthcare.gov.

OK…I could buy that.
