Discussion: HHS: 1,200 Migrant Children Reunited With Families After Border Separation

So when the gov’t says “Well we did the best that we could do for the children,” then what? What happens to those not reunited? What’s happening with the unaccompanied minors that were already here before Trump?

HHS: 1,200 Migrant Children Reunited With Families After Border Separation

This number should be 0, because IT SHOULD NEVER HAVE HAPPENED.

I think I’ll wait for these numbers to be verified by a neutral third party before I celebrate.

That’s what I was going to say.

Every single one of the reunifications claimed by the government needs to be independently verified.

Previous reports had the government claiming that families were not separated as long as they were held in the same facility, even if adults and children were in separate cages. (Also, consider that last clause for its own value.)

The key point seems to be that well under half have been reunited, even under whatever criteria HHS is using.

I don’t believe a word they say or report. I have serious doubts about anything that comes out of his administration.

Speaking of verification, who in HHS is responsible to make sure all contractors are following procedures? Who is checking that kids are getting properly prepared food, clothing, showers, and so forth?
