It brings a tear to the conservative’s eye. How beautiful! Americans joining together to try and keep a random, armed maniac from killing them. Surely this is Eden.
Only one thing. People stepped up when the gunman stopped shooting to reload. Conservatives don’t want armed maniacs on the street to have to stop and reload.

Exactly. Which is why magazine capacity and detachable magazines matter. There are half-wit trolls here who’d argue that because the shooter didn’t use a “scary black AR-15” then there’s no point in regulating military-style rifles. But see, we’re not half-wits here.

What if some brave soul came up behind one of those OCT bozos, gave him a shot of pepper spray in the face and grabbed his assault weapon? Or do those bozos only travel in packs, always vigilant against a gun grabber?

It seems the perceived good guys are the ones who have been doing all these mass shootings.
Point is, when issuing a firearm, you NEVER know who’s a good guy and who’s a bad guy. Hence the reason such issuance must be heavily regulated.

The crazy lunatic who shot Gabby Giffords was stopped by unarmed heroes when he stopped to reload. This guy was stopped by unarmed hero (es) when he stopped to reload. The huge issue of high-capacity magazines is still with us, and the moronic assholes from the NRA still say that high-capacity magazines are not the problem. They obviously are.

Hell, it works against grizzly bears. Good guy with a gun? I really can’t recall one instance of a civilian using a gun to stop an active mass shooter. Might be one, but for all the hoorair I haven’t heard of it.

I remain amazed that these guys (shooters, would-be shoe and underwear bombers) are merely caught and held down. How much adrenalin do you think it takes to get you to rush a guy with a gun? That’s not compatible with measured, moderate response.

Actually, there aren’t any.
If you point this out to the gun nuts, they will IMMEDIATELY reel off a list of instances that they CLAIM have happened but when you look at them, in every single one the instances are when somebody foils a robbery or a burglary. And even those are pretty rare. I haven’t been given a mass shooting yet.
