Discussion: Here's What Was On The Menu For The Obamas' Thanksgiving Dinner

Discussion for article #243235

Yeah OK…their menu sounds a bit better than my own especially in the pie department. But come on…ham? Isn’t that a Xmas thing…and roasted pepper oysters? Well La-Dee-Dah! But, but, but, the fucking Lions won holyshit bigtime by a whopping 45 to 14…totally unexpected and for once made the food go down a lot easier. Oh, and so did Da Bears…so we’re even…kinda.

About the ham. My niece’s house is where we usually go, and she’s had ham from Honeybaked along with her home cooked turkey. A friend of mine also makes a turkey and a ham for her big family and her recipe includes brown sugar, pineapple rings on it and in the pan so the ham can soak up the juices.

Thankfully the president didn’t care to include any Hawaiian Spam dishes that he likes.

What? No chocolate pie? All those pies and no chocolate?

Turkey and prime rib? My inner carnivore is jealous.

Just keep the Pilgrims away. Stuck up religious fundys.

Well we have a lot to be thankful for, yes. Don’t know about spam, but in general Hawaiian food is delicious! :grinning:

I’ll take your word for it about the Spam though my better half likes it. But that was when he was a kid.

I’ve always loved going to Hawaii for so many reasons and one is the food. A nice blend of Asian cuisine with native Hawaiian thrown in.

Apparently ham is increasingly becoming a Thanksgiving thing too. (Although it always was to some degree in southern and African-American households.)
