I had this strange image pop into my brain.

Somewhere in the Cape Verde region, a Russian trawler comes to rest. The Captain barks an order and a crewman disappears into the cabin, returning with a small black box. He opens the box on deck and inside is a small, delicate cage. Inside the cage is a small butterfly. The crewman blows on the butterfly and it begins to flap it’s wings. After a few seconds the Captain shouts in Russian, “Mission Accomplished!”. The crewman closes the box and stows the butterfly back in the cabin. The Trawler then begins the journey back to home port.

Way too much time on my hands at the moment.

Compare:

“The dangerousness of this event is like nothing we’ve ever seen,” Puerto Rico Gov. Ricardo Rossello said. “A lot of infrastructure won’t be able to withstand this kind of force.”

“We’re very worried about the impact of the winds and surge on the Keys as the storm approaches,” National Weather Service Director Louis Uccellini said. “Be ready for all the hazards associated with this storm."

Donald J. Trump, President of the United States of America (a man with a very big brain and who has the best words): “There’s a new and seems to be record-breaking hurricane heading right toward Florida and Puerto Rico and other places. We’ll see what happens. We’ll know in a very short period of time, but it looks like it could be something that will be not good. Believe me, not good.”

Yet we have this

I read that yesterday and I hope Rush listens to himself and stays right where he is and gets the full force of Irma right in his face.

Is there some organization that could take that quote with his image and display it on a few hundred billboards in Southern Florida in about two weeks?

After everything, I am surprised anyone listens to him.

There seems to be a trend. Exhibit some of the worse human behavior and people cling to them like they are messiahs.

Ugh. Hurricane damage is very nonlinear ion wind speed. Energy of moving stuff goes as velocity squared. Amount of moving stuff goes as velocity (roughly). And once the wind gets entry to a structure things get even worse.

And we’re not even halfway through hurricane season.

It would be tough, after 3 decades, for a dittohead to admit being conned, to take responsibility for the sheer nastiness you’d suckled from Limbaugh’s man-boobs, to stop blaming the Other.

I’m betting you’re one of those so-called “climate change” lunatics, right?

I took physics in college and was irreversibly corrupted.

I’m sure the next shift in the magnetic poles will cure what ails you…

Me? I’m waiting for what is supposed to be a big Northern Lights event over the next few days…

Yep. I worked with one for years. No matter how obvious wrong and how frequently Rush’s commentary disputed by bold fact, he never gave in.

It’s more than likely that Rush will eat his words since he lives in Florida inside a walled compound. C’mon storm surge!
In fact Rush is a neighbor of trump’s Mar-a-Lago:

Trump is a slight bit to the south on the same strip of what looks like island in Palm Beach

And in the next couple days Trump will visit Puerto Rico (as soon as someone tells him it’s a United States Territory) and tell the crowd, amassed to bask in his glow, that the Texas disaster was bigger and they should feel lucky.

Two prime targets for Irma, that fat junkie and Mar a lago.
