I am frankly stunned that this doesn’t happen more often. As the GOP has gone more and more to the irrational – not conservative, but irrational – side of the aisle I have been shocked there aren’t more Republicans leaving the party. And as the Dems moved farther to the right (until the last year) I am surprised there aren’t more GOPs switching parties.
