Be very very careful who you ‘threaten’ Hatch. We are just about sick of your sht.
“But we are going to do this again, throughout the day and see if they will come and do the job that they have been elected and sworn to do.”
–Sen. Hatch
Senator, it’s YOU who needs to do the job you were elected and sworn to do.
“But we are going to do this again, throughout the day and see if they will come and do the job that they have been elected and sworn to do.”
Stoping you fascist filth from destroying this country is what they were ellected to do.
Last year the Republican reading of the Constitution was that no president should be able to nominate someone for the Supreme Court during the last year of his administration. I think the Democratic position should be that no president should be able to nominate someone for the Supreme Court during the first year of his administration. That seems fair.
’Well, They Are Idiots’: GOP Senator Tees Off on Democrats Over Committee Boycott
The Senator’s name is Hatch
Go ahead change the rules. Own Mnuchin and Price totally.
@yankeeclipper - thanks for the link. I’m holding my breath hoping not to hear they’ve caved.
Fuck you, bozo. You’re going to advance it to the Senate anyway. And McConnell would schedule a vote on these two miscreants even if they were rejected by the committee. Shut the fuck up And take your BPH meds.
Strange but true. Utah was the first state to give women the right to vote in 1870, but Orrin voted no…
Umm… fuck you, Orrin. If you couldn’t come around on a mainstreamer like Merrick Garland, we’re not going to come around on your big pharma and great recession profiteers.
But please, by all means, get your magic underwear in a bunch, Brother Orrin. What if we primaried your wrinkled ass by getting Evan McMullin to run against you? How does that sound?
Also, fuck you. So nice, I said it twice.
If we are just inventing precedent from whole cloth like Republicans did, I think the Democratic position should be that no President who lost the popular vote should get to name Supreme Court Justices.
The American people, in their infinite wisdom, have spoken: there’s no penalty for obstruction.
A portent of things to come. If the Democrats obstruct in any way, we’ll change the rules to completely eliminate any doubt that they are gaming for an autocratic regime.
Until they start the arrests.
Of course Hatch and his GOPer cronies never ever stonewalled any of Obama’s picks for judgeships in lower courts and never stonewalled his pick for the Supreme Court and they never ever stonewalled any of the legislation he wanted.
GEEESH!!
So, does this “rule change” mean democrats are eliminated from all committees?
Or will they just ignore the democrats entirely which is a common practice here in AZ’s state legislature?
"Senate Finance Committee Chair Orrin Hatch told reporters Tuesday that
he would give Democrats “more time” to come around on their boycott of a
committee meeting to vote on two of President Trump’s cabinet nominees
before changing the committee rules to advance the nominees to a floor
vote."
Gop u started this obstruction behavior. The dems are finally returning the favor
No. I think what they’ll do is temporarily recess the Senate and have Trump do recess appointments for the pair. But then again, I could be wrong.
It would be terrible, terrible to wait to install someone in office until it became clear whether they had committed a felony in their appearance before the committee.
Terrible, but IOIYAR.
