“Give me some cover, Barrack”
“OK, give my my SCOTUS Judge, Orrin!”
How these people can wake up in the morning and stand to look in the mirror is a miracle of self-deception.
“He is a good man, but he shouldn’t be brought up tin this toxic environment,” Hatch told reporters on the hill. "I am tired of the Supreme Court being used as a battering ball back and forth on both sides. That is why I’d put it off till next year.
Can they even hear themselves? He is tired of the Supreme Court being a battering ball between the parties so it is best to make it an election issue? I really don’t know how these folks can look at themselves in the mirror.
The only party using the Supreme Court as battering ball attack is the GOP! I swear to God I don’t understand how Obama can stand this. I’d be raving lunatic at this point.
Lord I can’t wait for his next book.
vampires, known coloquially as bloodsuckers, have no reflection silly…
Sen Hatch just set there and watched McConnell do just that.
Never has so much stupidity been concentrated into one brief statement than this:
" He is a good man, but he shouldn’t be brought up tin this toxic environment," Hatch told reporters on the hill. “I am tired of the Supreme Court being used as a battering ball back and forth on both sides. That is why I’d put it off till next year.”
Sen. Orrin Hatch (R-UT) in 1997
“Merrick B. Garland is highly qualified to sit on the D.C. circuit. His intelligence and his scholarship cannot be questioned… His legal experience is equally impressive… Accordingly, I believe Mr. Garland is a fine nominee. I know him personally, I know of his integrity, I know of his legal ability, I know of his honesty, I know of his acumen, and he belongs on the court. I believe he is not only a fine nominee, but is as good as Republicans can expect from this administration. In fact, I would place him at the top of the list.”
Which is precisely why Obama nominated him: maximal ridicule for the GOP!! Go Obama!!
Yes! The man’s a genius. Stealthy and cool at all times and playing the old white men…
TPM:
“He is a good man, but he shouldn’t be brought up tin this toxic environment,” Hatch told reporters on the hill.
That’s rich. Who created that toxic environment, Sen. Hatch? Are you saying the President of the United States should stop doing his job just because Republicans are irrational, insulting, brats?
Deleted by author because JCBlues got there first
Bwahahahahahahahahaha!!!
Hatch wants him to come up for consideration after the election during a lame duck session? That’s why Obama will withdraw his nomination a couple weeks before the election and agree that at that point the next President SHOULD be the one to make the nomination. Game, set, match to you Mr. President. Kudos on your political jiujitsu.
“[Obama] could easily name Merrick Garland, who is a fine man,” he continued. “He probably won’t do that because this appointment is about the election. So I’m pretty sure he’ll name someone the [liberal Democratic base] wants.”
Hey Grassley, project much?
You assume that they can see themselves in the mirror, which might not be the case.
That shows how much smarter Obama is than Hatch. Of course Obama was going to nominate a moderate, that is a far stronger political angle than appointing a reasonable liberal. This might be the straw that breaks the GOP camel’s back. If Trump doesn’t do it sooner.
“The President told me several times he’s going to name a moderate, but I don’t believe him,” Hatch told the conservative news site on Friday.
“[Obama] could easily name Merrick Garland, who is a fine man,” he continued. “He probably won’t do that because this appointment is about the election. So I’m pretty sure he’ll name someone the [liberal Democratic base] wants.”
I’m pretty sure that Hatch wasn’t on his high school chess team.
