Damn right Harry!
With Reid, Obama and Hillary leading the fight, who can stop the Democratic takeover?
I don’t think what Reid said is true in any very direct way. But I think it’s pretty clever. If you’re McConnell and his press secretary, how do you respond? By embracing Trump proudly? I don’t think they want to do that. By angrily rejecting what Reid said? They don’t exactly want to do that either. They’ve got a tiny-holed needle to thread here. Makes me grin.
Reid the Boxer shines forth again…throwing stiff jabs, setting traps, and waiting to spring the crushing counter.
Ah, there is nothing more stimulating in the morning than a nice steaming hot cup of strong black coffee, and the sound of Harry Reid pissing in Mitch McConnell’s corn flakes.
I don’t know how Reid has contained himself ---- Better man than I ,for sure –
I would already be in jail for smacking McConnell right in the nose —
Err the democratic voters who fail to turn up most of the time?
Excellent point, mattinpa. It’s in the nature of a “Do you still beat your wife?” trap. Love it. Couldn’t happen to a more deserving group of a-holes.
Seriously. It’s amazing to me to see how they can all be so congenial with one another in the respective chambers, glad-handing and smiling and all. I guess after awhile they must become inured to all the verbalized acrimony and bald-faced lying about one another. Although, I’m not implying any false-equivalency. Republicans definitely push the bullshit envelope.
I’m thing more along the lines of Republicans pushing the bullshit blimp hangar.
Agreed. But I would point out that McConnell, by refusing to work with the President in any way, has had a real effect on people.
It’s given rise to a feeling of frustration, ennui, and apathy. A feeling that government is incompetent and unable to do anything right.
And these thoughts have had not an insignificant effect on Trump’s rise in the Republican Party. That’s pretty much his base, after all.
Yes, and the GOP mainstream, having created gridlock in the House and by the McConnell initiated 450 Filibusters, have the F___ gall to claim that Washington is broken by partisan gridlock and sell themselves as the cure. It is the extortionist’s siren song. Reminds me of The Humongous in the original Road Warrior…“There’s been too much blood, too much killing…” as he holds the compound dwellers under siege and murders anyone who tries to get in or travel out.
Because Reid and Hillary are so beloved right?
I think Obama will be the most instrumental in this election. He’s still very popular.
And BernieOrBusters.
I think it’s mostly a matter of whether one can blame a party-wide phenomenon on one person. Some time back, “Bobby” Jindal blamed Obama for the rise of Trump. He may have had a point but he left out several steps in his proof. In fact it was the Republican response to Obama that was responsible for the rise of Trump. Republican obstruction of everything that Obama proposed or supported unleashed a wave of racism in the US that hadn’t been seen since the days of the Civil Rights Act. This festering racism is what made the rise of Trump possible because Trump gave a voice to the racists (and the xenophobes and the misogynists, etc.).
So it is the obstruction of everything that Obama did that made the rise of Trump possible (if not inevitable). Whether this belongs to Mitch McConnell alone or whether Rush Limbaugh and John Boehner deserve a share is difficult to say, but McConnell was certainly in a position, as Senate Minority Leader, to lead the obstruction by filibustering legislation and appointments.
But it’s clearly all Obama’s fault. If he hadn’t been President, McConnell wouldn’t have had to obstruct everything he did. He shouldn’t have worn such a short skirt and stiletto heels.
I love Harry. Now he’s just plain having fun.
I think that was probably what Harry is trying to do
He should have said that McConnell is irresponsible for tRump.
Very true. Before Obama Trump’s brief flirtations with politics were considered a joke.
I agree but Mitch did say 5 minutes after Obama was sworn in that he would do everything in his power to make Obama a one term president so Mitch did kick off the game in a very public way.
