They can afford to lose some US trade since the increased trade China got from the US backing out of TPP will easily offset any decrease in US-China trade.

The United States of course will be backed by its allies. Uh, right??

Haley is conveniently omitting the other side of the ledger, i. e. U.S. debt to China and the ability of China to advance their trade interests worldwide by the short-sighted, bullying actions of Trump. It used to be called “shooting yourself in the foot.”

U.S. Ambassador Nikki Haley warned China on Wednesday that it risks its massive trade with the United States if its business with North Korea violates U.N. sanctions.

That’s nothing compared to what the US risks by cutting off trade with China.

What allies? Trump has pretty much pissed most of them off. I’m sure Putin will give him his orders in their meeting this week.

OK then. We cut off trade from China. What is Walmart going to sell?

NoKo finds themselves in a more powerful military position. Our game show host of a pr*sident has tweeted his half assed opinion to no effect. An experienced foreign policy service would be of great value right now, but he fired everybody. Now the Chinese and Russians can parley without us and come back with a proposal that leaves them both in a more powerful position and the U.S. weaker.

Nothing left to do but blame President Obama.

Loud threats and saber rattling didn’t work…so clearly what is needed is louder threats and more saber rattling.

Well Obama IS to blame, I mean really, he is black.

Yes, we have a lot of leverage over the Chinese. At least we don’t owe them any money, or anything like that.

A touch of Trumpy blackmail .

The Chinese are holding $1.3 Trillion in U.S. Treasuries. And we buy god-knows how much of their industrial production. We’re two patients on one ventilator machine. Haley can shake her little fist at China at the UN all she wants, but Trump put her there specifically because of his contempt for the UN. Nothing’s gonna happen between the US and China.
