If only there had been a good gun instructor with a gun nearby to stop this bad gun instructor with a gun.

So . . . an expert certified in gun safety couldn’t handle his weapon in a routine situation. . . and the Donald Trumps of the world are certain they could use their guns effectively and heroically in the midst of a crisis. Sure they would.

Every damned state should have a law with at least a $25,000 fine for the careless discharge of a firearm. At least 75% of the collected fines should be used to fund gun safety education…And I’m not adverse to said accident-prone idiot being required to pay for gun discharge insurance for 5 years.

If he had a loaded firearm in his hand and engaged another person in some sort of hand to hand crap…it was an act of reckless endangerment.

I think Jesus would probably be carrying an AR-15…what’s the deal with a handgun?

The Personal Protection Institute’s website notes that classes have been canceled until further notice.

No mention of exactly why.

They should simply have to pay for insurance period. The insurance companies would be running straight to Congress to get some serious controls in place.

Speaking of which, it’s time again for the voting for the Funniest Incidence of Gun Carelessness 2015

In 2014 the winner was:

May 15, 2014 A South Carolina man was killed on Wednesday after he put on a
bulletproof vest, asked his friend to shoot him, and the friend allegedly
missed the vest, according to television station WYFF.

THIS year the nominees are:

1.9.15 - A woman in Fayetteville, N.C. allegedly shot her husband in the chest when he came home to
surprise her with breakfast Friday morning, television station WTVD reported.

3.17.15 - KNOX DALE,Pa. (AP) — Police say a Pennsylvania woman high from smoking methamphetamine
has fatally shot her husband after mistaking him for an intruder.

3.22.15 - A Louisiana man was in custody on Monday after shooting his 18-year-old son in
the buttocks during a fight about orange juice, police said.

4.6.15 - A man’s gun reportedly went off in his pocket in the middle of a church service on
Saturday in Altoona, Penn., before he handed the weapon off to someone else who
allegedly hid it in the pages of a program.

6.23.15 - During a gun safety class for aspiring security officers in Florida
this week, a student accidentally shot himself in the leg, the Associated Press reports.

9.9.15 - A 31-year-old woman was arrested by Waco, Texas police late Monday night
with about 30 grams of methamphetamine in her purse and a fully loaded handgun,
with a round chambered, in her vagina, according to a local television report.

9.11.15 - A Florida man dressed as a Power Ranger was arrested,
authorities said, after he was accused of pointing a gun and make threats at a
public pool in Tampa, the AP reported. The suspect was found with two
fake weapons that resembled real handguns, rather than the blade blasters and
thunder slingers featured on the 1990s show

9.22.15 - A Florida man is facing charges of animal cruelty after being shot by a puppy he was trying to kill.

9.26.15 - A South Dakota man is in custody for lying to police about how he landed in the emergency room with a gunshot wound to the penis.

9.28.15 - A Washington state man high on meth shot himself in the groin with a revolver after seeing imaginary “Mexicans” in trees outside his home which he believed were going to attack him, the Yakima Herald reports.

Please post your vote on TPM before Jan. 5. Other nominees may be added before Dec. 31 if weird enough.

They’d have to add some caveats on who would receive the funds for gun safety education. In this case it was the instructor who shot a student!

That pastor should have the guts to apologize for getting in the way of that gun … even if his guts were all shot to Hell.

He shot a pastor? Why didn’t God prevent the shooting?

 The firearm accidentally discharged

OK, the NRA says people are dangererous, not weapons, but it seems to me there’s a shitload of “accidental” discharges out there so maybe the weapons really are to blame?

God doesn’t carry.

Instructor: I had assumed that the Pastor was wearing The Carson Belt which would have deflected the bullet.
