What is the point of revealing that? If an organized crime boss is under investigation, is it better for the investigation that he know, or not know?
Shouldn’t the investigation of a public figure be made known only at its conclustion, in case the investigation confirms the innocence of the investigatee?
The election of a delusional compulsive liar and egomaniac as president of the United States has done about as much damage to our democratic institutions as is possible. Investigation of this dangerous despot will start to restore public trust.

Comey testified that he can’t answer questions of that nature at all. Full stop. The reason is obvious. If he were able to tell you Person A and Person B are not under investigation, but then declined to say whether Person C is under investigation, he’d have told you that Person C is under investigation. So he can’t answer that question at all. Therefore, he could not legitimately have told Trump that Trump was not under investigation.
Thus is Senator Grassley’s licking a finger and pointing upwards to gauge the wind. If it’s blowing, maybe they should cut and run, otherwise keep supporting Trump till those tax cuts and ObamaCare repeal get signed. Nothing more.
