Discussion: Grassley: Trump's Claim Wind Turbines Cause Cancer Is 'Idiotic'

Watch it Chuck. Iowa leads the nation with 35% of its electric generation by wind so you have a significant economic incentive to defend it. On the other hand several hundred thousand voters now believe the turbines cause cancer and that number will grow.

"They say the noise causes cancer.ā€

Noise-based cancer diagnoses have increased over 400% since 2008.

(Oh, and ā€œglobal warmingā€ is crazy talk.)

Coal dust, however, is healthy for the lungs. Gives them a good coating that protects the lining, so they stay nice and fresh.

Really? I would have guessed since January 2017.

Fuck off Grassley. You are worthless and need to retire.

the same guy who says when the wind dies down your electricity goes out is the same festering idiot who single-handedly got us out of the Paris climate accords. for gridā€™s sake.

Did Senator Grassley really refer to himself in the third person?

erik_t thinks only a senile, aloof clown does that shit.

ā€œIā€™m told that the White House respects my views on a lot of issues,ā€ Grassley told reporters,

And if you actually believe that Chuck, youā€™re an even bigger idiot than the current occupant you spend every other minute of your life propping up.

@castor_troy is not senile, and feels your insult belies the fact that you are far less of a person than he is.

I donā€™t think wind noise causes cancer but Iā€™m fairly certain Syphilis causes tRumpā€™s brain to rot. And watching itā€™s progression ainā€™t pretty.

Serves as a sun block also!

But please wash your face before putting on your Michael Jackson costume :scream:

I have to say, Trumpā€™s complete ignorance and idiocy does make me laugh now and then.

Fourteen states now have 10 percent or more of their generation coming from wind power. Most of these are in the central plains. These states include North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota, Iowa, Nebraska, Colorado, Kansas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Texas, Maine, Vermont, Oregon, and Idaho.

The top five states according to percentage of generation by wind in 2016 were [Red States mofo!]

Iowa (36.6%)
South Dakota (30.3%)
Kansas (29.6%)
Oklahoma (25.1%)
North Dakota (21.5%)

Maybe the Dems should start putting out ads highlighting how Republicans are killing King Coalā€¦

Well hell Chuck, didnā€™t you know that your guy trump by his own admission is a stable genius? Consequently he must be an expert on every last subject known to mankind, right? In fact axios has a list of subjects that trump says he knows more about than anyone anywhere in the history of mankind (no shit either)ā€¦

So, when trump says windmills cause cancer you damn well better believe him, right? Cuz he has more lab experience doing cancer research than any scientist anywhere at any time evah!!
Chuck, seriously now, how by all that is known, can you, in good conscience, stay a republican in the face of bullshit that your dear leader spews on a daily basis?

Illinois/Wisconsin borders have impressive arrays, and everyone is pleased with cheap power they provide.

OT, but, I just read that the Rosemont mine southeast of Tucson has crossed the last hurtle to start the open pit mining. This depresses me to no end.

How is that OT?

Need copper to make the power lines to bypass the wind turbines and get to good, solid, coal-powered electric plants!

Haha all I care is Grassley said what Trump said was ā€œidiotic.ā€ Itā€™s funny in itself and of course how Trump responds is necessarily going to be funny too.

Of course it is, Chuckles, but so is everything he says and still 40% of the American public laps it up like itā€™s free beer. Youā€™re going to have to do better than that if you expect to be taken seriously.

Just wanted to let @darrtown know of this horrendous project that has been fought for probably 10 years and will suck the aquifers dry.
Between that one and another thatā€™s ramping up further south, Iā€™m glad I moved.
