What could possibly be nocuous about a presidential campaign having a cooperative relationship with a cutout for Russian military intelligence that broadcasts stolen private documents meant to interfere with a national election? But not from milquetoast Grassley, he’d just be “very concerned for our national security” or somesuch, and appear on a nap-time fox show to ask open-ended questions implying treasonous intent.
Seems to me there’d be no way, unless we saw the other end of the exchanges (i.e. Assange’s DM chain), to know whether Junior deleted replies he may have sent to the Wikileaks DMs. We’re taking Junior at his word that the released exchange is complete and he never responded other than what he’s shown us?
Shorter Grassley: We need more hearings about Hillary’s emails.

It seems Jr didn’t often respond in writing to Wikileaks, but followed the emails with interest. Several times he seems to have taken Wiki’s advice and followed up with an action inspired by their suggestions. Innocuous, yup.
