Susan Colllins also wants it released.
No, she doesn’t.
Yes, she does.
What is your favorite color?
Blue. No yel-- Auuuuuuuugh!
Guess he is still pissed at the windmill comment
“I’m told that the White House respects my views on a lot of issues,” Grassley said. “(Trump’s) comments on wind energy — not only as a president but when he was a candidate — were, first of all, idiotic, and it didn’t show much respect for Chuck Grassley as the grandfather of the wind energy tax credit.
Between this and calling Trump’s windmills-cause-cancer claim “idiotic”, can we assume that Chuck is having a come-to-jesus moment?
Wishful thinking…
I have no doubts that Chuckles is still a conservative prick, I just think that he might be washing his hands of Trump…
That was my first thought. This is not a young Capraesque hero trying to find an idealist’s way forward in a corrupt and uncaring world. It’s a couple of knuckleheads with differing views on wind power.
They always say something that sounds reasonable and decent when there’s no vote riding on it. But when that time comes, Mitch does his turtle-dementor thing or whatever it is, and they come into line.
I suppose that even Zombie Chuckie G is now cognizant enough to realize, after the revelations in the NYT and WAPO, that the corn is beginning to hit the fan.
Sir, your dissing of Media Moderate Madonna Susan Collins has me quite concerned!
I think it’s possible Grassley was, for a time, shocked when he was first briefed in March 2017 on the extent of the relationship between the Trump campaign and the Russians. But in the end they all agreed it was better than having Hillary.
But in the finale is Trump giving them what they want, or is it another fine mess Trump made and they’ll be blamed for it?
"I support release of the Mueller report …
… but I will not vote to do anything to in any way force its release or hold Barr accountable for failing to release it."
Always check the fine print.
We both know the answer—it won’t end well at all, and every single one of these moral midgets will claim to have been very concerned from the beginning and will have citable incidents of having said they’re concerned about this and not in favor of that. I wouldn’t give you a nickel for a pol who couldn’t clean that stink off.
Yeah, Chuck. In invisible ink?
I think he was shocked at how deeply the money trail went into the GOP…and more importantly shocked at the evidence that was being gathered to show that.
If that assumption is correct, he now believes that the Mueller report is focused more tightly, so that the GOP piggybanks aren’t at risk. And after such a scare, its better to get the focus on Trump so he doesn’t drag another investigation into something that will threaten the GOP money machines.
Grassley Says He Supports The Release Of Mueller Report
Holy shit!!! Three times in two days now that I’ve agreed with Republicans!!! The world really is trying to right itself. One can only hope that this correction does not with the pace of a geological time frame.
Well, if Grassley was pissed, he is over it now. Thursday from the Senate floor:
"They [House Democrats] dislike him with a passion, and they want his tax returns to destroy him,” Grassley said. “That’s all that this whole process is about, and it’s Nixonian to the core.”
BTW, regarding the decision to go after only 6 years of Trump Taxes, it was a cautionary legal move:
“The six-year decision was reached because the IRS advises you should retain six years of your tax records,” Neal said Thursday. “And we thought if this were to end up in court we didn’t want an issue, for example if you were requesting eight years, where it would be thrown out based on a technicality.”
