Uh, Chuck? Read your weekend email first. Something from McConnell came in.

Pretty sure we’ve seen this little song and dance from Grassley before. He comes from a blue-leaning state and so he pretends to be open to compromise and then eventually says that Obama’s being unreasonable and there’s nothing he can do but at least he tried.

Remember the Gang of Six from the ACA negotiations? Classic Grassley. He’ll say no to holding hearings AFTER Obama nominates his hideously partisan and under qualified nominee.

These anti-American thugs have likely heard the blowback from their belligerence. Now they’re thinking the better of their original position. The problem for them is walking that back now will be a tremendous disappointment for their base.

“I would wait until the nominee is made before I would make any decisions,” Grassley told reporters, according to Radio Iowa. “In other words, take it a step at a time.”

Well, duh! When the time comes, just do your job … one step at a time.

I remember that very well. From that point on, I never ever trusted a word out of this ass’s pie hole.

Apparently he is walking back his previous position. Apparently somebody with some brains started thinking about what he and McConnell said over the weekend and how would be turned against them.

So he has not decided whether or not he should follow the Constitution. Got it.

It steams me because it continues a pattern of disrespect for the man. The GOP has never considered this a “legitimate” presidency.

“I would wait until the nominee is made…"

You mean the nomination your puppet master and you yourself previously said President Obama shouldn’t even make (despite the Constitution mandating it)…?

“I would wait until the nominee is made before I would make any decisions,”

Teatroll Rosetta Stone: “I’ll confirm that there will be no debate or vote on any nominees that President Darky puts forth just as soon as we have our excuses narrative worked out. Until then, I have to pretend there’s a chance we might do something else.”

Grassley is beginning to have a vague sense that Obama might delight in feeding the whole GOP into a political wood chipper over an unreasonable obstruction of a reasonable nominee.

of course - after seeing the realities, the GOP might still dive in head first.

I never realized it until now, but I miss Bruce Brailey.

There’s a reason for this, but come back soon Bruce…

I’ll say this for Sen. (GR)Assley, he used the correct order of likelihood of who will be the next POTUS:

“This is a very serious position to fill and it should be filled and debated during the campaign and filled by either Hillary Clinton, Senator Sanders or whoever’s nominated by the Republicans,” he said, according to Radio Iowa.

Methinks that Chuckles inadvertently let slip the underlying meme that has settled into the GOP’s collective unconscious. Their chances of winning in the general are slim to none.

Grassley is a Repusive Party hack. He’ll do what the Turtle tells him to do.

Any Senator who refuses to do their job on SCOTUS hearings should get their campaign re-election offices blockaded by mass protests.

The Senate is given the opportunity and obligation to advise and consent, but if it refuses that responsibility, POTUS should just go ahead and appoint and let SCOTUS sort it out. A SCOTUS with a 5-4 liberal majority.
