Obama is playing this one perfectly. As time goes on, Grassley’s hand gets weaker and weaker, and he’s had more and more time to iterate it. Obama gave him a lot of rope.

So, let me get this straight, according to Grassley’s own admission and logic, his duties according to the U.S. Constitutional represent “a gamble?” He cannot even hide his crass partisanship and ignorance.

Grassley is up for reelection in November. I bet he thought he was safe. With Trump on the ballot he might not be as safe as he thought.

Nope, Grassley is too principled to hold a confirmation vote on Garland after the election. That would mean he lied when he said the next president should fill the ninth seat on the Supreme Court and the GOP is steeped in the George Washington “I cannot tell a lie” mythology.

I remember back in the early days of this administration, that the White House thought this stupid bastard was one of the reasonable republicans with whom they could deal. Was that a damned mistake! He’s got the brains of Dan Quayle and the integrity of Ted Cruz.

I fervently hope not, and believe he won’t. Why in the world should this president, or any, give credence to the stupid meme that Presidential terms don’t really last four years… depending on the pleasure of the minority party!

What does Grassley care? You can tell from the way he’s conducted his Senatorial business over the past several years that he doesn’t care about the welfare of this country. He figures he’ll be long gone by the time we go down the poop hole.

As if any further evidence was needed - here’s absolute confirmation that Grassley’s opposition is simply to prevent Obama’s selection from being considered because - it is Obama’s selection. Pure personal hatred of Obama.

Why didn’t anyone call Silly Chuckels on his admission that his obstruction of Obama’s appointee for the court is all political.
He said that he is motivated by a belief that the Senate must wait for the “voice of the People.” If this is indeed what is motivating him then it is not a “gamble” to wait until after the election unless he sees allowing the election to go forward as being a gamble.
If he believes in the “voice of the people” as being the decider there is no “gamble” there is only waiting for them to speak.
I have known Grassely for over 40 years. He is a dishonorable fool and he needs for the “voice of the people” to through his lying ass out of the Senate.
