Careful Chuck. A corpse could really stink up the Senate building.

If there is a god, I pray your Senate career is also DOA.

Too bad we can’t say the same thing about Grassley

Please make sure that Senators Kirk, Johnson and Ayotte get that memo.

I’m cool with that Chuck. Just know that the next nominee you see will be considerably more liberal.

As a general rule, a guy who looks like a zombie should shy away from any statement containing “DOA” or “dead.”

And… that’s the GOP - DOA ! Grassley, McConnell are just nasty, mean-spirited, disgusting = GOP ! These two will go away eventually, too bad it is not soon… They took an oath, they are taking our money - for their outsized salaries (and perks etc) – and do nothing!!! They should all be “fired” for not doing their job!

With luck, you’ll be able to say it about his coming re-election debacle though,

“”“and change the direction of the court for at least a generation is too important to get bogged down in politics”""

Concerning yourself with the “direction” of the Supreme Court is politics…,and I think that Freudian slip should come back to haunt the Senator.

Using Bidens past statement as a reason is so disingenuous that is compounds how pathetic they really are. Biden made a statement, it wasn’t policy or procedure, what they are doing is plain partisan obstructionism. By weakening an entire branch of government for over a year or longer for political games, they should be called traitors.

if Grassley sticks with his current “no, no, 1000 times no!” position and demands that the senate waits for the next president, he should understand that he will no longer be chairman of the judiciary committee come Jan 2017

so YES, let’s wait for President Clinton to nominate a liberal next year!

classic Obama.

he gave them the “best you could hope for” nominee for their rejection. (they have painted themselves in that rejection corner)

at some point Garland will be voted down (no consideration is not tenable in the long term, let some GOP Senate primaries pass by first)

Obama will be sure they pay politically, and at their weakest, a new nominee will be named as November approaches. My guess Kelly, as looks like (ugh…) HRC will likely be the nominee. This will hurt Grassley as well as bring out the sexism charges against the GOP. (HRC, surely knows how to play the gender card)

Kelly won’t be confirmed until after election, but at that point the GOP “concern” about the people having a voice will be not usable. Given Obama will no longer be the political threat anymore, the GOP will confirm as to not give HRC the win early in her term.

(as their new #1goal will be to make HRC a 1 term president, again, not governing)

Republicans will hold hearings when they are in a position to name the nominee. This may take a while; perhaps a generation.

They are horrible people.

Grassley: “Do we want a [Supreme Court] that interprets the law?”

Why is it necessary to interpret the law if (per Scalia and Thomas) the Constitution means only and precisely what it meant in the eighteenth century?
