Discussion for article #247568

I second the Senator’s motion to appoint Idi Amin as Supreme Court Justice.

interesting that Senator Snodgrassley can’t recognize intellectual dishonesty when he actually participates in it… he must be reading the Cliff Notes version of the Constitution and US history…

Hey, Chuck Honey - you can’t be “intellectually dishonest” if you don’t possess an intellect in the first place.
I hope this nomination is shoved up Grassley’s anal-retentive ass like a big ear of Iowa corn.

“It would be intellectually dishonest for me to say that at this point,” he told CNN.

This works well as a standard disclaimer for any and all comments emanating from the Senator.

Chuck Grassley’s entire career in Congress has been based on intellectual dishonesty. Looking forward to the day when he is no longer living off the taxpayer.

“If I can meet with a dictator in Uganda, I can surely meet with a decent person in America,” Grassley told CNN.

Good idea. You certainly won’t meet one by looking in the mirror, or at one of your GOP colleagues.

What’s the opposite of a “disclaimer” – standard qualification, perhaps. The man is a walking testament to the power of dishonesty, combined with the absence of intellect. The “at this point” is nice touch – in itself, it’s perfectly intellectually dishonest Grassley wiggle room.

If, as a prosecutor and judge, Merrick Garland can meet with lowlifes and criminals, he can meet with Chuck Grassley.

Grassley is ready for the glue factory.

“It would be intellectually dishonest for me to say that at this point,” he told CNN.

But I reserve the right to be intellectually dishonest at a later time.

What a completely asinine statement by Grassley. And the establishment Republicans wonder how megalomaniacs and pathological liars like Drumpf and Cruz can rise to primary election prominence in the broken Republican party. When the establishment leadership ignores the US Constitution, when they allow corporations to run things, when they blame and demonize government for everything after they’ve gutted the very departments who solve public policy matters, it is no wonder Drumpf and Cruz are able to cannibalize the GOP.

Grassley has joined the treasonous Republican idiots.

It’s interesting to me how the GOP now finds itself openly espousing craven hypocrisy as a political weapon and governing tool.

I realize a lot of GOPers are ridiculously stupid, are marked by a great resistance to acute cognitive dissonance, and will believe absolutely anything that Fox News tells them without even trying to reason why it is total bull. But still. This is a new era we’re starting here, where the GOP now don’t pretend to be total hypocrites by continually using dog whistles, or codes, or whatnot.

I guess being “politically correct” (using dog whistles and codes and whatnot) was too hard on most of the GOP base. It probably went over their heads, or made their brains hurt. Now that it’s open, they can finally understand it.

Republican delusions that Obama is a dictator should give them pause to not ignore Garland. After all, if Obama is in fact a dictator, why should they expect elections this November?
