You could give Comey the benefit of the doubt that to expose a serious, and I mean serious conspiracy, letting him get to office may be the only way the public would truly respond to what was done. But I am just day dreaming on this.

I do assume Comey didn’t want Hillary to be president.

I don’t assume Comey cares at all - repeat AT ALL - about Donald Trump. Comey’s party won, and will still be in charge after he buries Trump, hopefully beginning on Monday.

There is no way the Trump campaign is innocent, and Comey knows it. That’s why this has taken so long. He might not even say much on Monday, other than he can’t talk about ongoing investigations.

But Trump is a walking dead man. The rest of his life will be a raging sea, whether he knows it or not. You can’t flip off the intel services publicly as much as he has and get away with it. They’re going to have their way with him.

They may not be the sharpest tools in the drawer but Grassley and the other Republican leaders probably thought they were in on the con; even the dumber ones must be realizing this may not be the case.

That alone would stir the coals but they can’t be missing the possibility now that they could also be the marks. If that suspicion sets in we won’t just see a show for the folks back home, the place will really be on fire.
