Discussion for article #226190
Ah, the old “they’re coming to our shores” fallacy.
fear, FEAR, FEAR!!!
Has she taken to her fainting couch yet?
The element of surprise is over, Lindsey. We are not unprepared and ignoring the situation at home like Bush did. There is someone competent in charge now instead of a Palin or Cheney.
Bin Lauden only highjacked those planes in the US to make the American people understand we have been meddling in the Middle East for way too long. He knew it would work because he knew how stupid the Neocons were and took advantage of the fact.
Then Bush made sure that we would never go there lusting for their oil again by screwing the pooch in Iraq so badly. We even have a treaty OK’d by the GOP Congress saying we won’t. So chill out.
So who wants to take bets on who wins out in Iraq? The Sunnis or the Shiites? I say the Kurds will be the big winners when they finally detach themselves from the proxy war that the Saudis and Iran are playing. Aren’t we all sick of doing the fighting for them?
Graham once more commits treason by hoping for a terrorist attack on US soil.
Since the Bush Great Depression hit, there aren’t even any Mexicans coming to the US anymore much less terrorists. All those flight training schools have been offshored to India.
Only Central American kids are venturing over our Border and that’s only because they haven’t hear how mean conservatives can be to children.
4 3 2 1 …depends commercial
Just as Hamas provokes Israel into detrimental reactions, ISIL would like nothing more than to provoke the US into joining the fight in Iraq.
Establish defensive lines, contain them and squeeze them economically then exploit their internal divisions.
Sorry, Lindsey, but 9/11 is way past its exploitation date.
everybody to get from street
Senators McCain and Graham urge US military involvement in Syria and Iraq? OK, fine, but only if we tax the wealthy elites to pay for it and only if the sons and daughters of the wealthy elite fight, suffer and die for the cause this time, rather than waging war on the backs of the middle class (is there such a thing?) and the poor, and the dying and suffering by soldiers of low income Americans who have sacrificed enough already.
Ah, yes. We have to fight them over there so we don’t have to fight them over here.
Sounds vaguely familiar…
or the other nauseating version of this rationale - “Better to fight them there than here.”
Evidently he thinks they’ll come ashore at Myrtle Beach.
If only.
Ohpleaseohpleaseohplease– hit Hilton Head Island first.

“They have expressed a desire to do so.” Yeah, and I’ve expressed a desire to win the lottery. This is not to say that there will never be another attack in the US but the expression of a desire on the part of some group does not equal a capability to accomplish their desires or any sort of credible threat.
I only summoned Myrtle Beach because I recalled the asinine remark Cokie Roberts made years ago about Obama going on vacation to “exotic” Hawaii and he should have gone to Myrtle Beach instead. South Carolina will treat any invaders harshly, however, as they have already demonstrated.
Just thought we could get a two-fer.
Lindsey’s state-- and a 1%er vacation stronghold.
