Discussion: Graham: ‘Ridiculous’ That Trump Cited Cost As Rationale For Ending War Games

What is truly absurd is Americans don’t realize how much the US Military costs the nation and who our spending dwarfs the rest of the world leaving the Federal unable to take care of the homeland!

Hey Lindsey,

Aren’t you getting fatigued by all of the constant mopping up and then kissing up that you now feel you have to do to both ‘send messages’ to and then coddle to prevent ‘attack by twitter from’ Trump?

It really doesn’t look good on you.

No more ridiculous than Trump’s citing “National Security” as the reason to impose tariffs on an ally that we share intelligence with, that has fought beside and died beside us in war after war, that took in thousands of Americans after 9/11, and that operates joint ballistic missile radar sites with us. We have a sick vicious lying racist piece of crap for a president(no caps for scum) who is also a sexual predator. And he lies and lies and lies and lies…

And ol’ Vlad must really have some sleazy Kompromat on his South Carolina Puppet!

How about you subtract all of the trade and commerce which is enabled by having large swaths of the planet being maintained in relative peace? Just for a start.

It’s much more expensive to go in and clean out a mess, like we’ve done in a couple of World Wars, then to engage in preventive maintenance.

Graham never met a military action he didn’t like -except of course any that Obama undertook.

Graham is trying to burnish his “butch bona fides.”

Trump loves shiny studly military hardware, but balks at the cost of training exercises?

Great. Just another clueless pointy-haired boss who splashes out for fancy technology but refuses to spend money on training the employees to use it effectively.

I guess the troops in SK are now available for that parade dotard wants…

Hey, I’ve got an idea! We can save even more money! For a start, now that we’ve all had a good laugh, let’s disband the navy.

Hey, it gets his face in the media. For some of these dingbats, that’s all worth it.

There’s always money for murdering brown people all over the planet, but never any money for anything that truly matters to Americans like health care, education, infrastructure and saving the planet from unregulated capitalism’s ecocidal mania…

Wasn’t it Trump who demanded the unjustified increases in the DoD budget?

One goal that NK and China desired was the removal of US troops from the peninsula. Troops out will allow an invasion, in it means immediate response, out and we’ll think about it first.

Not getting that immediately the next best is to prevent joint training.

You can game all you want but until you actually try to put those games through the paces you have no real idea if it all hang together. Simple thing like a recent communication upgrades can doom a field exercise and being told that the upgrade is compatible is not nearly the same as actually seeing it work.

But he got his 30 Million for a parade…

I don’t recall ever seeing “saber-rattle” used as a transitive verb before.

Pretty clever, Ms. @nicole_lafond.

Now that we have nearly achieved Korean unification it might make sense to eliminate USFK, the large troop presence in Korea to save tax payer money. A large military presence thousands of miles away is a waste of money.

I forget who it was that joked about the Democratic Party standing for two things only: (1) the rule of law and (2) the proposition that there’s never enough votes for single-payer health care.
