Yes, it’s not like the relationship broke down because the two just couldn’t get along. PP wants Sessions to obstruct justice. Sessions won’t do it. That’s the entirety of the breakdown/disrepair of their relationship. He’d have the exact same problem with anyone else who is confirmed. Graham knows this.
Oh, the massive ironies! No one – no one – has worked harder than Jeff Sessions, or with greater fealty to the Troll in Chief, in implementing the racialist, anti-immigrant, vote-suppressive elements of the Trump/GOP agenda. Sessions should be a hero of the modern Republican Party. Yet despite his subservience to Trump on all other matters, his unwillingness to embrace the full implications of das Fuhrerprinzip has earned him nothing but contempt from his GOP colleagues. Of all the weird things happening right now, this has surely got to be right at the top of the list.
