Discussion: Graham On Emails: I Won't Say 'First Dumb Thing That Comes To My Mind'

Discussion for article #234109

I’m not sure Graham needs to use email to say dumb things - he seems to be able to get dumb things out there regardless. (and didn’t someone on TPM say he uses twitter?)

“I only say the even numbered ones.”

Wow. You’re really gonna just softball it in there like that, Graham Cracker? OK then:

You realize, this means that the dumb things we do hear from him are the ones he’s deeply considered before broadcasting them out to the ether. Not exactly a confidence-builder.

Graham seems to use the media to say dumb things all the time…and he, himself, may not actually use twitter.

“We have the most technologically savvy president in the history of the country,” Graham told the Examiner. “How’s that working out?”

On just about every measure, it’s working out fantastically well. But, yeah, too bad we don’t have Wasilla Hillbillies running around DC, drinking, fighting, and screwing their way through life.

Umm, saying that you have never sent an email qualifies as a first dumb thing, the firstest, in fact.

So, basically, he behaves like a guy determined not to create a paper (or electron) trail for anything he does. That’s really, really suspicious.

And I’m not just talking about his rumored closeted gayness. I have no doubt that somewhere in South Carolina, there’s a voter who doesn’t know about it and wouldn’t vote for him if he did, but c’mon, they all know. Everyone knows. And none of them care as long as he don’t go shovin’ his gay thing down their good Christian throats. This is the state that just elected the Appalachian Trail hiker to Congress, fed cripes sake.

So that being the case, just what, exactly, is Lindsey hiding?

Wow, god help us if he wasn’t working to not say the first dumb thing that comes to mind…because everything this person says publicly are about the dumbest things out there.

In a follow-up, Graham said, “…and those newfangled whachamacallits – I don’t like them either, back in my day, whippersnappers…YOU KIDS GET OFF MY LAWN.!”

Well, at least he didn’t start talking about a series of tubes.

Graham told reporters that Hillary Clinton would have avoided the controversy by simply not using email.

“If she could do it again, she’d do the Lindsey Graham thing, and not use email,” he said.

If he were the Secretary of State, Lindsey would send secure messages with reconditioned, WW II, German “Enigma” machines and Commando Cody secret decoder rings.

this clown is a republican, guaranteeing the next thing he says will be stupid. that’s all they have

Oh come on. The guy says he has an iPad and then claims that he’s never sent an e-mail. That’s just totally unbelievable.

Headline should read: “Graham won’t use Email at of fear that he can’t control his urge to say dumb things.”

That a pretty damning admission. And this guy wan’t to be our president?

“But I don’t e-mail. I’ve tried not to have a system where I can just say the first dumb thing that comes to my mind. I’ve always been concerned.”

Possible answers:

  1. If that’s your goal than you failed.
  2. Sounds like you need a system where you cut your tongue out.
  3. You realize you can take your time and think through your response in an email, right? You don’t have to just say the first thing that pops into your head. It isn’t like giving an interview to “Meet the Press.”

If Huckleberry stops saying dumb things he’ll be mute.

I’m trying to jealously guard myself in terms of being able to think through problems…

Any day now, Lindsey, any day now.

In fact, you could argue that it was Obama’s ability to find other tech-savvy folks to work with his campaign, combined with his much-maligned (from the right) “community organizer” experience that helped him become president. Twice.

“I’ve tried not to have a system where I can just say the first dumb thing that comes to my mind.”

He seems to go for the second or third dumb things that come to mind. What an idiot luddite. That this assgasket has any say in things like net neutrality, telecommunications policy and law is astounding.
