My bother and my uncle were both cops. My brother retired as the Chief of Police in a small town in western Oklahoma and my uncle, while he was on the force, was stabbed in the chest three times by a guy he had in custody.
I don’t speak to my brother very often. Unfortunately, I could give you more insight into dysfunctional families (and racism in Oklahoma) than his thoughts on the " the brotherhood".
Edit to add:
My brother was witness at this guy’s execution. I think that experience put him off the death penalty.
LOVE that last paragraph – trying to cover every base he can. Hey, Lindsey! You wouldn’t have plans for '16, too, would you? It almost makes me hope you win (or, at least, get the Veep slot), so I can watch Warren or Booker or Hillary take your scrawny ass down on live TV!
Oh fer Dogs sake, let’s not go down this path again.
My personal choice is to not refer to Graham or anyone else using a gender based term. But that’s just my choice.
Hows 'bout we make the choices we are comfortable with and let others do the same?
No, there are plenty of us who aren’t okay with it. But you’ve seen what happens when we ask those who think it’s okay to normalize homophobic remarks to stop. We’re accused of being closet homophobes IRL and humorless types who need to get a life, etc. Been there, done that. But some people take the lazy way to discuss indict anything Graham says and their homophobic remarks continue to get a pass, and if you bring it up you’ll eventually get accused of derailing the thread.
This remark, by the way, was pretty mild. Maybe because Graham, like a broken clock, was right for one moment in the day.
“What happened in Missouri, I understand why the cop had to defend himself.”
Fuck you, Ms. Lindsey! - St.Louisan native
I really refuse to become “comfortable” with people using the feminization of a man as a way to belittle and denigrate him. That’s about as woman hating as it gets.
Just so I understand: When a white cop gets shot to death, it’s the black shooters fault (or in the case of the escaped Bundy Commune killers, the white shooters). When a white cop shoots to death an unarmed black man, it’s the black mans fault. In conclusion it’s almost always the black mans fault no matter what happens.
At least the two cops were armed so that should make it “fair” in the eyes of the NRA, amiright?
Wow, good for him. How refreshing. Thank you, Senator.
“…I blame the shooter…”
We all blame the shooter. Thanks for stating the obvious.
Right.
Then 'hows ‘bout’ we let the tea party behave the way they want without criticizing them either.
We can’t be critical of the tea party’s using pejoratives to belittle other races, genders, or nationalities and accepting of it when our side does it.
You can’t have it both ways.
…Cops were the good guys
…and they had guns.
How’d that work out for them, WayneLaPeePee?
Graham On Death Of NYC Police Officers:
‘I Blame The Shooter’
Translation:
The NRA is my daddy, and the availability of guns is irrelevant.
Well,somebody has got some sense.
Isn’t that what the NRA fought Obama tooth & nail on? Dems wanted more robust background checks for the mentally unstable but NRA & GOTP were completely against.
So, whose fault is it, this unstable crazie was able to have easy access to a gun to kill? Yeah, NRA and GOTP and Dem blue dogs too.
He means as opposed to knee jerk blaming Obama like psycho Ghouliani.
You got it right.
In the Bundy communes, it’s also the non existent black guy’s fault too.
Moral of the story, it’s always the black guy’s fault, even where none is present.
I agree.
I won’t flag but these gender bashing posts are highly misogynistic.
They’re not homophobic IMO as some appear to believe, they’re completely misogynistic as if there’s something wrong with being female.
Sexism is alive & well and all across TPM. Those posts are highly offensive.
Exactly, a total lack of self awareness.
Naturally whenever a homicide occurs in NYC, I first need to know what a senator from South Carolina has to say on the matter.
