Discussion: Graham: 'Nut Job' Trump Will Be GOP Nominee, 'Lose Badly' In General Election

Of course you realize what it means if Lindsay Graham says Trump will lose: Trump is going to be the next President.

Aunt Lindsey needs to come out of that closet.

Or gay-baiting.

Lindsay Grahamā€™s sexuality is irrelevant,
Rand Paulā€™s hair is irrelevant,
Chris Christieā€™s weight is irrelevant (as is Rush Limbaughā€™s, as is Michael Mooreā€™s)
Bobby Jindalā€™s middle name is irrelevant,
Barak Obamaā€™s middle name is irrelevant,

so much irrelevanceā€¦
it gets tedious

ā€œI think heā€™s going to lose, heā€™s going to lose badly. And I think all
the things that we care about are going to be locked in place, and sheā€™s
going to get to pick Supreme Court nominees,ā€ he said of Hillary
Clinton, the Democratic front-runner.

Sing it loud, Sister!

ā€œIā€™ve got a ticket on the Titanic. So I am like on the team that bought a ticket on the Titanic after we saw the movie. This is what happens if you nominate Trump.ā€

Um, Lindsay. Anyone who knew in advance what was going to happen on the Titanic would have gotten off the ship! What is wrong with you??

John McCain was dropping bombs on civilians in Hanoi. Heā€™s a war criminal, not a war hero.

Hillary will only get to pick nominees in years 1-3 and 5-7, right?

Because traditionally a President canā€™t nominate a Justice in election years, right?

Getting shot down and tortured doesnā€™t make you ā€œheroā€.

Iā€™ll give to old Lindsey; he knows about running for president and losing bad.

In November, weā€™ll be voting for the President of the United States of America. I guarantee you this: the winner will not be the equivalent of a radio shock jock.

Lindsey, Lindsey, Lindsey. This is the Republican Party you helped to create. You went after the poorly educated, the racists, the homophobes. You were able to control them in the past. Then your BFF, John McCain, chose Wasilla Kardashian as his running-mate. Your BFF made Joe the (Not Really) Plumber a national figure. The hell occurring now is what you helped unleash. Yes, this will make Johnson v. Goldwater look like a close election, but youā€™ve only yourself to blame.

Asked whether heā€™d endorse the billionaire businessman if nominated, Graham said, ā€œIā€™ve got a ticket on the Titanic. So I am like on the team that bought a ticket on the Titanic after we saw the movie.ā€

Funny he said that when the Titanic had already hit an iceberg and sunk not so short time before.

As crazy as they are I think they might obstruct for years and years, after the first year they will say the court is working just fine with 8 and it minimizes their power and opportunity for Judicial over reach.

You built that.

Couldnā€™t agree more, Brian and RFScalf. This childish behavior by TPM commenters needs to stop. Itā€™s not funny, itā€™s not clever, itā€™s not intelligent. Itā€™s squallid, pure and simple, and not at all in line with progressive/liberal thinking. Senator Grahamā€™s sexual proclivities are his own business, as are everyoneā€™s.
Time for Moderator Mike to clean this shit up. Itā€™s really off-putting.

Miss Lindsay needs to look in the mirror. Itā€™s not Trump that will cost the republicans. Ask yourself this Lindsay, so you support your partyā€™s extreme positions on things like say, the Supreme Court vacancy? What about Benghazi or repealing the ACA? Trump is a reflection of the fact that the republican party is divorced from reality. They need to be completely removed from power before the party understands that their ideas are bankrupt.

He added that Clinton also would protect President Barack Obamaā€™s health care law, block the Keystone XL pipeline and ensure federal funds for Planned Parenthood.

Works for me.

LOL No kidding. But I think his point is that as an elected Republican Senator, he doesnā€™t have much choice but to ride it out on sinking ship. Even if he switched parties heā€™s still doomed.

I agree. Misogyny is misogyny. But I also know from years of TPM commenting under various pseudonyms that this is generally a place where weā€™re allowed a little extra latitude to blow off some steam, poke fun, and write some pretty ridiculous things from time to time. And whereas ad hominem epithets are usually unsavory, I agree with upwitoulz that itā€™s not very progressive or liberal minded. Still, I wouldnā€™t want moderator Mike to block me for some of the stupid nonsense Iā€™m guilty of posting with regularity in my attempts to be clever, wrongheaded as I may be. I enjoy TPMā€™s comment boards precisely because this a venue for venting as much as a place where bright minds construct cogent arguments. Weā€™re still a community and weā€™re quite able to spot and call out (or ignore) the really mean-spirited trolls.
