Lindsey just put a big wooden mallet into the hands of Amy McGrath. If I were her, I’d immediately put out a strong statement castigating Graham for ignoring the needs of U.S. military families in Kentucky, and demanding that Mitch McConnell repudiate Graham’s suggestion.

True, but if it was some random public school, there wouldn’t be the tremendous opportunity to loop “supporting the troops” into the bargain. This one is a gift that the Dems should send Lindsay flowers for.

When military schools can’t meet the needs of military dependent children, those kids go to public schools nearby. Because those public schools don’t receive property taxes from military installations, they receive federal Impact Aid to help make up the difference.
Guess who foots the bill for that aid?

I think you’re right. God knows we’ve been trying to claw our way back for decades. And still, no Democrat could push through the Great Society initiatives that LBJ pushed through. Even Nixon was half liberal. But Reagan really did hammer the nail into that coffin.
