Fear of a primary challenge partly explains Graham’s sucking up to Trump – that and the dirt that Trump’s Russian handlers have on him.
Graham’s sycophancy to Trump could prevent a primary opponent, but it does energize Democrats in his state and reveals to all he’s a shameless opportunist, liar, and hypocrite who puts party above country.

SC Democrats will turn out against Lindsey Graham - it may not be enough but the repubs will have to spend money and effort, and the campaign will provide a forum for Democrats to make their case against Graham, Trump, McConnell, and the GOP. It might also cause Tim Scott to be a little less extreme (I can dream can’t I?). The greatest thing would be for Nikki Haley to jump in to run in the primary against Graham - Scott would probably try to help her and the media would give her a boost (they love the removal of the confederate flag story). Some people still have their LOSE LINDSEY signs from 2014…people have voted for LIndsey in the past but nobody loves Lindsey.
Lindsey! You are soooo disliked in SC. Even more so since you are playing the joey to Flumps Mrs. Kangaroo. An attractive Dem candidate will give you a run for your money (and a headache too, I hope!).
