So many asses to kiss, Linseed, so little time…

“I look forward to working with President Trump to find a confirmable, worthy successor so that we can start a new chapter at the Department of Justice and deal with both the opportunities and challenges our nation faces,” Graham said…

"…but enough about me."

I have trouble believing that Trump isn’t brazen enough to nominate Rudy Giuliani to the spot. I have no problem at all believing that if he were to do so, this pile of shit will be first in line to sign off on it.

Pretty much. What stop it from happening? The Democrats? How could they do that? McConnell isn’t going to listen to the Democrats. Any Gopper’s in the Senate with a shred of integrity? Decency? Patriotism?

Yeah, didn’t think so.

I think it’s worse than that; Graham is grooming himself for the position. He is utterly shameless.

Lindsey,

You used to be a friend of John McCain - a man trump hated.

I see a trump photo op at dinner in your future:

“Right now, I’m leaning towards Squi.”

Was thinking the exact same thing today. Thoughts of where the Republican backbone will come from.
Romney? Best bet, but look at the picture.
Flake, Corker? Trump “resigned” them.
Grassley? He is already on board, per public statements.

My die-hard conservative WWII vet father (who saw too much Pacific action) would roll over in his grave if he saw the modern Repub party.
But I feel he would snicker and take another draw from his paper towel wrapped Rheingold 16 ouncer if he saw the results last night.

To be clear, Dems blew the doors off yesterday, and none too soon for commandeering the House based on today’s news.
They can now step on 5th Avenue and tell Trump “no, you cannot shoot someone and get away with it”.
They can now tell Trump to give up his taxes to see what conflicts with law.
They can now oversee the Mueller probe into Russian collusion.
They can now make this country great again. (MTCGA?). Whatever.
Yes, the emotional losses of Beto, Abrams, and Florida are short term, but these guys will rise again, and they brought along down-ballot voters in every state. Helluva accomplishment in these states.
1.5 M new voters in FLA alone in the next election.
Rejoice! The Ship of State takes a long time to turn.

We have a hard slog to go through with The Great Pumpkin, but look at the bright side, and the humor of it all, as my Preacher friend would say.

This is not the Republican party of my father. The Democratic party is now the Republican party of my father.
We will persevere.
