translation: party before country…
the only Republican consistency is consistent hypocrisy…
The Republican Party: the Philadelphia 76ers of politics.
He talks about the possibility of “the heart and soul of the conservative movement” being lost? It’s already lost, Lindsey! Graham has “the vapors” again…
I vaguely recall some kind of pledge about backing the nominee, come hell or high water, did that lapse ?
Shorter Graham: I got nuthin’.
Happy words Senator. But we aren’t counting our chickens just yet.
Sow. Reap. It’s not rocket science.
Lindsey Graham and John McCain, the self appointed GOP experts on National Security, the Military, and Foreign Affairs, and their weekly drumbeat opposing each and every incident of President Obama’s Foreign Policy, are every bit as low quality as Trump. They played their assigned parts in the de-legitimazation of President Obama and the GOP’s plan to turn him into Carter 2.0.
The devil you know over the devil you don’t, basically.
But what he is expressing here is basically the same thing I am hearing…republicans are already resigned to the fact that they are going to lose the White House to Hillary. Now its about trying to minimize the damage down ticket. They feel they can at least drive out their base to vote for Cruz…and therefore be in the ticket booth to vote for Senators, Representatives and state elections. They are seeing polling that is putting reliably red states into Hillary’s hands with Trump…and it scares the hell out of them.
Losing to Hillary is one thing. Losing to Hillary AND losing the Senate AND the House would reduce the GOP to a rump party for years. probably a good decade at least.
They are starting to buckle on their crash helmets —
I wonder how many times he’s stood behind someone who got David Duke’s support, whether he knew it or not.
I sincerely hope that we take the Senate and House and a few state houses while we are at it this session. I am, however, worried that just like last decade, Dems may be peaking to early. Last time, there was a Dem wave in '06, and even bigger one in '08, and then the fickle public changed their mind and went back to the GOP in '10. We have to be the party in power of the state houses in 2020. There is no political goal more important than that one. We have to be in charge of redistricting so we can gerrymander in our favor for once. Finally put the nail in the coffin of the old white party. I know there is a lot of focus on this November, but I really hope that there are some strategists who are playing the long game right now.
So if you think the Canadian snake has a better chance against Hillary, why isn’t he winning the re-puke primaries?
One more thing, you senators have zero respect for the cube-nandian. Even to the point of hatred. Given that, you would still like to see him as the POTUS over Hillary?
Are you high?
Let’s make that happen!
Like every other Republican, Miss Lindsay puts party above country.
I am hoping against hope that every one of those sleazy 24 GOP Senators up for election lose their seats in November…
We need to bring back Howard Dean’s 50 state strategy. Which means that we have to Dump Debbie Downer and get someone with a backbone as DNC Chairman.
Trump might give them a better chance to win the presidency though Cruz probably helps the PARTY since he is at least a regular, if someone many of them hate.
Democrats don’t even need to gerrymander in our favor, all we need is fair redistricting, no gerrymandering in either direction. But yes, control of that process is key, and the current gerrymandering is a major reason Republicans control Congress today. Far from the only reason, but a major one.
