“I listened to Devin (Nunes) and Paul (Ryan) quiz the DOJ and the DOJ for hours on multiple occasions about the one counterintelligence investigation we all knew about it. I find it stunning that they would know about a second one and not say a single solitary word,” Gowdy told Fox News’ Martha MacCallum. “And I will continue to not believe they knew about it unless one or the other contradicts it.”

Is there some impedient to asking them or is it just easier to mindlessly flap your gums?

He’s saying that Nunes can’t hold a secret, no matter how sensitive? He has a point.

Fortunately there were six others in the briefing, some of whom are trustworthy and will eventually confirm it. To rely on a Trump stooge (Nunes) and a guy who constantly averted his eyes so as to not see gambling taking place in the casino (Ryan) shows that Gowdy isn’t seriously interested in what happened.

Isn’t it downright embarrassing to find out you’re stupid on live TV?

McCabe’s interview with Lawrence provided more context on this point. McCabe and Rosenstein announced it after Comey was fired and it was the same day that Rosenstein announced the Special Counsel. I suspect that all of DC was still stunned at what Trump did and every GOPer was cautious and tight lipped because they all knew Trump had made a mistake. It took the GOP some time to react. They were initially deferential to Mueller. They shifted to attack and obstruction mode later when Trump made it clear that he needed to kill the investigation or he would be removed from office. The only reason the GOP defends Trump on #trumprussia is that they feel if he goes down, they go down (politically, though in Nunes’ case, I expect him to be the subject of an indictment).

Gowdy - on really any topic: “I refuse to believe I have my finger up my butt even though I clearly have my finger up my butt.”

Ryan ran away like a Dog of Hell was on his tail and Nunes is probably one of the unindicted felons.

You ask this after his chairmanship of the longest legislative investigation in the history of the Republic? The longest that came up with the least dirt, mind you. Never have so many Rat Fucked so much, for so little.

It’s been a good while since he has been able to embarrass himself on national TV. He misses it.
