Discussion: Gowdy: I Don't Think 'Threshold Has Been Met' For Clinton Special Counsel

Major PAC donors of Gowdy’s directly connected to Cambridge Analytica. Who are under investigation. It has been suggested that a number of GOP personnel were recorded at convention conspiring to launder Russian money through RNC. Gowdy may be one such.

Jim Jordon is a flaming fraud. He came in just before the Tea Party wave vowing to ‘clean up government’ only to whore himself out to the highest bidder. It doesn’t take long for a little corruption to sneak up on you, does it Jim? I think everyone should send him a clip of Shep Smith last night…

Whenever Tray appears on screen I watch his latest hair style. Nowadays he is spending more time on that than on the Clintons.

And then there’s that whole Flynn kidnapping for $, thing. It looks like Nunes was in on that one. And, I presume Chuck Grassley has been somehow compromised, as well, since “treason” and “innocuous” are not really synonyms.

There is more traction on this issue as “there should be an investigation” meme, than as an actual investigation. An actual investigation would not produce the kind of revenue that a "they’re deliberately trying to cover this up, send money to… " promotional campaign.

sometimes we have to study what the facts are

A lost art in the world occupied by GOP politicos and not likely to be revived under the educational policies of Betsy “For Profit” DeVos.

Translation: “I have read the basic facts and there’s nothing real there. A special counsel would soon come to the same conclusion, discrediting the whole thing. Better to keep the ‘investigations’ in Congress, where we can drag things out for months or even years, and reach conclusions based on political spin rather than facts.”

@maximus With Gowdy, I’m just waiting for the foreskin to creep back up from his collar and recover the head.

If we’re lucky he may contract a case of terminal phimosis.

Yes and the timeline doesn’t match either; e.g., the board member and donor to the Clinton Foundation that the Right is trying to tie to Clinton was not on the board when the deal was made nor was Clinton Sec of State when he was on the board. Joy Ann Reid lays the U1 timeline out at The Daily Edge.

The U1 ‘scandal’ doesn’t even rise to a tissue of lies, it is a puff of intestinal gas that Republicans are desperately trying to form into a turd so they can throw something, anything into the path of the oncoming Mueller train (sorry for the mixed metaphors).

Actually Putin is fully invested in state-supported crony capitalism; ergo he is more closely aligned with fascism.

That’s the heart of the matter. Jordan is dumb as a rock, and they are trying to tell him to STFU because he is blowing their game plan. This is a right wing echo chamber rumor, and they want to breathe more live into it, to see if it can take hold. Giving it to a special prosecutor achieves the exact opposite.it shuts up the matter from the press entirely, until the special prosecutor comes back and says “Nothing here”.

Did Trey finally figure out that Hillary isn’t president or SOS and there’s not a damn thing they can actually do to her?

This will just add to the huge disappointment and shock that the Trumpies will get when their Faux Emperor goes down on real charges.

Not only are the Republicans poised to one up their worst ever standing and blow past the Nixon/Watergate fiasco big time, but they are fully backing it this go 'round.
It isn’t so much, Republicans in disarray, as it is Republicans are inherently dishonest.

Their world is now based in the make believe and wishful thinking and that will be crushed by reality happening in real time to their leader.

Without a conspiracy to hold on to offset the truth, they will deteriorate into muttering gelatinous blobs of protoplasmic nothingness.
Everything they are is riding on making the unreal real and somehow dispelling all truth.
Talk about hanging on by a thread!

Partly true, but only if he’s the crony.

That is a leap of illogic a mountain goat would not attempt.

Anything Clinton is guaranteed to rile up the base. It is the football equivalent of talking about the Packers with a bunch of rabid Vikings fans. People immediately lose their shit…

There is a threshold that has to be met, and I don’t think it has been met.

No shit it hasn’t been met, but you and your GOP pals can keep insulting the FBI and the intelligence agencies. It will help them stay motivated to use any ongoing investigations to demonstrate just how careful and thorough they really are.

Not a puppet – not a puppet ! – YOU’RE The PUPPET !

O I know and the base is stupid and has no idea what Congress has the authority to do and not do especially since Trump kept telling them they were going to lock her up.

Over my dead body I might add. I was prepared to pitch a tent in Jeb Hensarling’s front yard if they did this.

Moscow-based analyst Aleksei Shiropaiev claimed that Russia was moving toward fascism “at a galloping pace.” Russian fascism “has become a FACT, [his emphasis]” “mass Russian consciousness remains absolutely imperialist and chauvinist,” and most Russians have “ACCEPTED [his emphasis] fascization and are ready to agree to even massive political repressions.”

But are the analysts right? The evidence is compelling.

More here:

Another characteristic typical of Fascist states is the conflict of interest between the business community and the ruling political party. Enterprise and private profit are typically encouraged within the context of service to the state. It has been well established that many of the country’s top business leaders have close ties to Putin, and earlier this year, the Kremlin announced that members of Putin’s cabinet would begin to serve on the boards of directors of ostensibly private companies.
