We’ll we get the parade of GOPers in Congress in their white lab coats again crying about the kids with cancer not getting treatment, or will the adult in the caucus point out that they control Congress and the WH?
Paul Ryan thinks the shutdown would be a good time for female employees to give the Social Security Administration that additional child he thinks they owe the country.
Scientists in government labs should probably be developing protocols for saving research at the end of every workday. Who knows when one of the cabinet secretaries or POTUS will shut down any given scientific research project completely. All it will take is for Fox to say that science is working against his interests. These people have no values except for their own power.
These are just a few of the losses of a government shutdown. Trumpski does not believe the government does any good except for the military who give him really big bombs to blow up. So a Republican House and Senate fail to appropriate a Constitutionally mandated budget while a Republican WH cheers them on to a “good shutdown” and Trumpski jets off to be admired by his donors and play golf.
U.S. people are the ones who lose in so many ways. When it is over the cost of the shutdown will be calculated as so many hundred billion. The real effects will resonate for decades.
Wait until trump’s golf course doesn’t get its grass watered and his course turns brown. Then there would be a blow up fer sure
My father worked for (and still works for) a three-letter federal research agency in '95 and '96, and had to risk censure or worse to keep his months-long experiments valid and rigorous through those shutdowns. Please look the other way and don’t check door logs, boss. I (wink wink) was never here.
He had to risk his job to perform his duty to the American people.
No, Newt, you motherfucking shitstain, we’re not still bitter.
Yet another refrain from the GOP: “We don’t need no stinkin’ science!”
Kinder, Küche, Kirche…
We both live in deserts where water is a limiting resource. Here in the rich people’s fenced in ghetto the Jack Nicholas golf course fairways are planted with high water requiring European bentgrass But no worries. The golf course has water rights to 750,000 gallons of city drinking water per day. Possibly where you live folks are a bit more enlightened and use effluent from the sewage treatment plant to irrigate the recreation areas. At any rate and in no small measure due to climate change pretty soon growing populations are going to run out of drinking water. So far our golf course owners have made it clear that they are not giving up a drop of their entitled water. I doubt the climate change denying dotard would sacrifice a square inch of his greenery for the benefit of working people.
I admire Fauci, but one claim he made is false. He said a universal Flu vaccine would be available in “years not decades”. In fact a universal flu vaccine has been developed at the NIH
http://www.pnas.org/content/111/15/5676.abstract .
Years are required for FDA approval – the vaccine exists and works.
Egregious…of course, Skeletor Conway was just on blaming the Dems and how much they hate the military, sick people, all life forms…
He’s not worth the energy.
Per the 2016 campaign, even Republicans don’t take him seriously any more.
Meanwhile, from the article:
Fauci, who directs the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, called the cycle of off-and-on budget deals and shutdown threats demoralizing and disruptive to science.
One of several features; definitely not a bug.
Fun fact: The 1918 flu pandemic killed dotard’s grandfather. One might doubt the wisdom of him cutting the budget of NIH.
It’s a shame.
The nation that put a man on the moon now, under Republican rule, can only rush through a tax cut for rich donors.
Republican government can’t do a single thing for its citizens.
Thank you Dr. Fauci for sharing with the public at large, how a Federal Government shutdown will affect the very important work you do for maintaining our wellbeing!
