But a second trial for four people in May ended in acquittals on most charges and a hung jury on the rest.

Three things worth noting:

- They all demanded jury trials.

The act of corralling large numbers of people and charging all with a generic crime (dissing His Highness) has always struck me as a foretelling of Trump’s nascent admin. I am waiting for this horror show to come tumbling down. Hope he doesn’t destroy us all before that happens.

Hate to say it but . . . They harassed these folks for a full 18 months (with all of the anxiety that hangs over people’s heads in this kind of situation), drove up the costs of a legal defense on the taxpayer’s dime, and pulled out of the prosecution before losing the cases in a very public way. That result, in the twisted logic of Trumpworld, is considered to be a “win”…
He should thank the protesters for making his inaugural crowd count look bigger.

Don’t forget the names of the Prosecutors and police involved. They have secrets too. Extramarital affairs, drug use, falsified time sheets … it’s amazing what mischief the most self righteous among us is up to.
