Discussion for article #246220
why do âfiscally responsibleâ governors insist on signing legislation that results in expensive lawsuits?
if they want to make a statement wouldnât it make more since to pass non-binding resolutions saying 'I want to control all womenâs ârightsâ and save the state money?
Well, heâs trying to make a pointâŚjust like the one on top of his head!
Yes, PP will sue and win, although Walkerâs move will cost them time to undo the damage, the loss of health care to many for awhile and $ for the lawyers. IIRC based on past right wing moves in other states, a state may not single out one organization and treat them differently than other organizations providing essentially the same services. WI will likely lose this court battle. I hope WI residents like to see their tax dollars go entirely to waste thanks to the guy they voted into office.
Oddly, the press tends still to mention primarily abortion services even though only a handful of WI centers do so. Insidiously, the rightâs goal is to kill off this great organization altogether as birth control, birth counseling and a host of other needed womenâs services (and some services to men too) are against their ideals. Sad but true as the article notes Walker did so in the building of an organization that offers zero health care and onlyâŚprayers!
They could have recalled him, and didnâtâŚ
He just slashed funding for prenatal care for unborn babies âŚ
When the anti abortion people talk about caring for the unborn and bashing PP for performing abortions, why doesnât anyone bring up prenatal care which PP provides?
Scott Walker will meet his WaterlooâŚ
Somewhere in Kansas two billionaire brothers are smiling.
Iâm thinking that heâs trying to position himself for a 2020 run. Of course, by then, the Rethugs wonât be viable as a national political party. State and Local level races are a different story that Iâm not willing to guess on that far in the future. But, nationally, I think itâs very fair to say that theyâll be dead in the water.
Gov. Scott Walker, first elected in 2010, survived the 2012 recall, re-elected in 2014.
Sen Ron Johnson, first elected in 2010.
I fully, strongly blame those who didnât care about going out to the polls to vote in midterms â those who abandoned Pres in just two years after he was elected, just complained, and didnât bother to vote.
Voters really dodged the bullet on this one. Governor * left the presidential field after only 90 days with less than 1% support. It didnât take voters long to see the empty suit, funded by the Koch brothers. He has inflicted so much damage to Wisconsin with his âDivide and Conquerâ policies. Wisconsin now sits along with Mississippi and Louisiana as one of the â7 states doing worse than the restâ.
Scott âdumber than dog poopâ Walker once again shows that the average voter in Wisconsin must be a moron.
the war against women by the GOTP continues.
Question for those that defend life before birth, but refuse to help it after birth!
The only answer needed is a simple yes or a simple no!
No kidding. Utah plans to sue the federal government to give the state control of ALL federally owned land in the state. Thatâs about two thirds of it, by the way. Most of Utah is owned by Uncle Sam.
How do you expect that suit, which is going to cost $14 million in legal fees, to turn out?
If a politician wins three elections, you have to assume heâs doing what the voters are asking for. Way to go, Wisconsin!
Waking up yet, Wisconsin?
The threat of an economic boycott over a religious freedom law worked wonders in Indiana. How about the same medicine for Wisconsin? I personally will not be setting foot in the Badger state anytime in the near future!
Not f they win this year and get to appoint SCOTUS justices who can rubber stamp all their voter suppression efforts. Even that is only a temporary 'fix" for them, to be sure, but it will do untold damage.
sleazy as usual.
Because Birthers only believe in that: the birth. They donât give a crap about prenataal or postnatal care, or the life of the mother.
