Very reassuring to know how easy it must be to tell a thug with a concealed weapon from a retired or off duty cop with a concealed weapon. Perhaps you could take that topic up with some deceased undercover cops?

Ok , two kids at recess ( one black one white ) playing ā rough and tumble ā . The cop sees this , ā two kids hitting each other - mock fighting ā and so he shoots and kills the black kid . Well done , Gov .
I had the experience of having an off-duty, plain clothes cop, with a concealed weapon, sitting right next to me in a college biology class. this happened my first semester of college, and freaked me out, when he bent over, opening up his jacket, and revealing the gun to my sight. at the time, I had no clue who he was, other than some guy with a concealed gun in my biology class.
my attention, until I found out who/what he was, and why he was carrying a gun into class, was distracted from where it should have been, with the instructor. shockingly, I didnāt feel safer, because a guy with a concealed gun was sitting next to me, even after I learned his identity.
this happened in the mid 70ās, even before the NRA went batshit crazy, and Reagan wanted everyone (except, shockingly, young black males) to be armed to the teeth, just in case. I guess we were ahead of the curve.

The thing is you canāt tell one from the other because most likely than not a CONCEALED weapon isnāt readily visible.
If the guy didnāt display signs of being a nut-job, Iām not sure why you freaked out.
