OK a good move and why not scrub the police department for dirt and evidence while you are at it.
It had to be done.
This is going to make everything ALL BETTER.
Just watch.
Looters and militant cops are both part of the problem. Stop being part of the problem.
Ferguson police chief pours gasoline on dwindling embers of racial discontent, feigns surprise over the resulting regenerated inferno.
See ya at 12:01 am.
Don’t get to comfortable in that silk pillow.
Phone is going to ring.
What ya going to do??
Call in the troops to sing a bedtime story?
Good luck with that.
Wonder what happens if a citizen has to work the graveyard shift and has to travel during curfew. Do they get a hall pass??
Anyway, would’ve been one of my questions if I was there.
This isn’t the first curfew ever.
I’d imagine reasonable job-related explanations are acceptable.
Being in an identifiable vehicle might bring less consternation.
The Metro StL bus line terminates just south of Ferguson near University of Missouri-StL.
So there’s not a likelihood of alot of transit passengers coming to Ferguson after curfew.
So yeah, walking in a group might warrant being questioned.
But if it’s the State Police doing the patrolling, there’s a lot less concern for conflict IMHO.

The Chief exacerbated the problem by putting out that tape after the DOJ asked him not to. He needs to step down. He’s mishandled these change of events from the beginning and is completely and totally incompetent.
Exactly.
The Chief exacerbated the problem…
Yes it seems so, but this appears unrated to Doremus’s comment.
Declaring a curfew without even offering any of the answers the community is waiting for on the shooting is a recipe for more looting and violence.
Throwing around stupid phrases like “situational awareness” isn’t going to cut it.
Doesn’t look like the curfew will be obeyed. From St Louis Post-Dispatch:
Informal survey: 8 of 10 protesters have no intention of getting off street at midnight. #MichaelBrown #Ferguson

Word on street: Protestors will dodge curfew by moving north to Jennings between 10:30-11. #Ferguson #MichaelBrown @stltoday

If stopped by the police, a reasonable explanation, such as working, should suffice. It did during the 60s riots.
Don’t excuse him with incompetence; his actions are a willful defense of his PD’s questionable reputation.
Where is the outrage from the Bundy droolers?
